Through Wikipedia I found out that Emmelsum has around 300 inhabitants, has never been self-dependent and that there are no places of interest. Even the district’s own website states that there is not much to say about Emmelsum. The film is an attempt at a portrait of this village. Hakie’s daily routine in the Albanian Alps is shaped by an archaic separation between the roles of men and women and allows us to see how the category “gender” is very much a social construction. Is Hakie a man or a woman? Hakie is a sworn virgin, a “Burrnesha”. contact: Anabela Angelovska, kontakt@hakie-haki.de hinter dem Wald BEYONd THE FOREST Francesca Bertin, Leonhard Kaufmann • Germany 2015 • documentary • 10’ • German dialogue • English subtitles Beyond the forest is the city of tomorrow, before the forest are the villages of yesterday. Klara, a 30-year-old woman, arrives home with a random guy that she has just met. Both are drunk, they are giggling, having fun. But there is someone else in the apartment: 9-year-old Anton catches them having sex. The next morning, Anton is gone. A woman is sitting in front of a camera telling a story about an experience she had. Even though she is able to describe the happenings quite detailed, the story also seems to be unlikely or implausible. It turns out not to be hers rather than a story from a MUSTANG JEANS commercial. contact: dffb Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin, festival@dffb.de THU 21 MAY 11:00 a.m. A dAY WE BEmOAN OuR LOT ANd AT NIGHT WE GET up TO AVOId dREAmING contact: Francesca Bertin, francesca.bertin@gmail.com Susann Maria Hempel • Germany 2014 • 18’ • German dialogue • English subtitles SnapShot mon amour A cinematic devotional book.
