Waiver or Credit for previous racing experience
We would like to make your experience in applying for an SCCA competition license a little easier.
Depending upon your previous racing experience, some or all of your licensing requirements may be
waived by your Divisional Licensing Administrator. This package will assist you in obtaining an SCCA
competition license. You will need to document your experience and submit it with the SCCA
application forms to your Divisional Licensing Administrator (listed below). If you have questions
please contact Club Racing clubracing@scca.com or Member Service membership@scca.com.

WAIVER OR CREDIT FOR PREVIOUS RACING EXPERIENCE

Scenarios
This is not a complete list of examples. Some are explicit per the GCR and some are examples per the GCR for
"previous racing experience". All are subject to the approval of the SCCA Club Racing Department or the
Divisional Licensing Representative in your area and those items with missing number of years (_years) are
subject to determination by these individuals.
SCCA Driver School (new to SCCA Club Racing):
1 or 2 for completed SCCA accredited private race school per 2015 GCR Appendix C 2.7.E.2.

1 for recently completed driver school(s) from appropriate racing organization similar to SCCA
Club racing (i.e. PCA, BMWCCA, )
1 or 2 for current racing license held from appropriate racing organization similar to SCCA Club
racing (i.e. those listed in GCR 2.8.B.) depending on length of time license held
SCCA Driver School (previously held SCCA competition license / Novice Permit):
1 for previously completed SCCA Drivers School(s) but absent race participation for __ years
 2 for previously completed SCCA Novice Permit logbook but absent race participation for __ years
 2 for previously held SCCA Regional license but absent race participation for __ years 
2 for previously held SCCA National license but absent race participation for __ years
Full Competition License (new to SCCA Club Racing):
Licenses accepted in 2013 GCR section 2.8.B. shall be accepted in lieu of requirements as listed
in GCR Appendix C.2.8 as noted in 2.9.B for issuance of a Full Competition License. Driver
applies directly to the SCCA National office.
Full Competition License (previous SCCA competition license held):
Absent race participation for __ years on previous SCCA License, depending on length of time
license held
Absent race participation for __ years on previous SCCA License, depending on length of time
license held with __ years of "previous racing experience": May also consider length of time
SCCA license held
Full Competition License (current SCCA competition license held):
if completed less than required number of races to renew Full Competition License in previous 12
months, with __ or more years held previous SCCA License
Full Competition License (having current license other than SCCA National License):
Currently holds an ASN Canada Professional Grade C License or higher (per 2015 GCR Appendix
C. 2.8.C.) Driver applies directly to the SCCA National office.
Completed __ SCCA Regional races in previous 12 months on a SCCA License with __ years of
"previous racing experience":
