Ariel Dechter - So. - Bradley (Mundelein, Ill.)
Dechter was bumped up to the top spot in Bradley’s lineup for the first time this spring,
but the move into the No. 1 singles position, as well as a change in doubles partners,
did not prevent her from building upon her record-setting season ... Dechter posted a
3-1 combined record on the weekend, including a 2-0 record at Missouri State to end
Bradley’s 49-match Valley losing streak and a singles win at #32 Wichita State for the
first point scored in Valley play against the Shockers this season. In Sunday’s dual at
#32 Wichita State, Dechter became the first Valley player to win a point against the
Shockers this season by pulling out a 3-set win ... Not only was Dechter’s win Sunday the first by a Valley player
in five matches versus Wichita State this season, it was the first by a Valley No. 1 singles player against the
Shockers in regular-season or tournament play since April 13, 2013 (16 matches when the No. 1 singles match
was counted in the team result).
