Vector Betting Breaks the Casinos’ Edge and Turns Gambling Into a Solid
Way to Pull In Profits Quickly and Safely!
Most gamblers don’t know a thing about vectors. They may remember hearing
something about vectors in a high school algebra class, but any real knowledge of them
has long since disappeared.
You may not be aware that vectors play an important role in physics when dealing with
the velocity and acceleration of a moving object. In fact, many other physical quantities
can be thought of as vectors.
However, until now, no one has ever applied the concept of vectors to casino games.
It took a real rocket scientist to make the connection between trends and changes in
direction in gambling games and his knowledge of vectors. Dr W., known as the Wizard
of Bets in Las Vegas, discovered how to identify Dominant Vectors in the casino games
of craps, roulette and baccarat.
This is one of the most important discoveries in the history of gambling. And, the most
amazing part is that once you identify the Dominant Vector in a casino game, you will be
able to beat the game so easily that your play will be unstoppable!

Win a Little At a Time
The best way to gamble is to set smaller targets and then win with them over and over
until your returns add up.
How much do you think you should target to win in a gambling session?
100% Return – No way. If you try to double your money each time you play,
you will end up losing 90% of the time.
50% Return – You are dreaming. Gambling is far too risky to hope to make
50% on your money every session.
20% Return – Bingo. Now we are in the ream of reasonable expectations. With
my approach, you will usually aim for a return of 20% to 25% per game.
Determining how much you expect to win is easy –
If you buy in for $300, then you will expect a win from $50 to $60 before
wrapping up a game.
If you buy in for $600, you will be looking for a win between $100 and $120.
Or, if your buy-in is just $60, you will have to be satisfied with a targeted win of
between $10 and $12.
Now, these don’t seem like very large wins do they? If you are dreaming about making
thousands, then $50 per game doesn’t seem like much?
Or, is it?
Let’s consider a couple of other factors.
The Power V Formula © 2011 Silverthorne Publications Inc
8
All Rights Reserved
Like, how long will it take you to bring in a profit equal to 20% to 25% of your buy in?
And, how quickly will your bankroll grow with you generating returns of 20% to 25% of
your game bankroll over and over, day after day?
Using The Power V Formula at the games of craps, roulette or baccarat, your average
game will last from 23 to 27 decisions. With roulette the average game takes 23 spins of
the roulette wheel. With baccarat it is 23 hands of cards played out. And with craps it
means 27 pass line or don’t pass decisions.
If you don’t understand these games, don’t worry. I’ll explain how to play these games
and how you will wager in the next few chapters. For now, I am just giving you an
overview of some basic concepts.
In any of these games, a decision in an online game occurs fairly quickly.
In land-based casinos, these games are much slower.
In a craps games, played in a land-based casino, you will have 30 to 40 Pass Line or
Don’t Pass decisions per hour.
With roulette, played in a land-based casino, you may get 50 to 60 decisions per hour.
And in mini-baccarat, the number of decisions will be 75 or so per hour.
Now, let’s consider that the average length of a game using the Power V Formula is
about 25 decisions.
Using this information, you can see that you can play from one and a half to about three
25- decision games per hour, depending on the speed of the game.
It you are making $60 in average profits per game, then your hourly return from craps
would be $96 an hour.
The Power V Formula © 2011 Silverthorne Publications Inc
9
All Rights Reserved
At roulette or baccarat, with an expected win of $60 per 25-decision game, you will be
making $144 an hour.
I think you will agree that these are very respectable returns. However, it gets even better
when you play online.
With online gambling, you can expect to play 250 to 350 decisions per hour. This is
possible because computer based games are played at a much higher rate of speed than
games played in real casinos.
At 300 decisions per hour, you can play twelve 25-decision long games in an hour. If
you are making an average of $60 per game and you play 12 games an hour, this works
out to a return of $720 an hour!
Once I translate the 20% to 25% return per game into dollars returned per hour spent
playing, you begin to see the power of this approach.

Playing Even-Money Bets
The Power V Formula is designed for even-money wagers in the games of craps, roulette
and baccarat.
In craps, you will make pass line and don’t pass wagers.
In roulette, you will pick and play one of the three types of even-money bets – colors (red
and black), high and low numbers (1to 18 or 19 to 36) or odd or even numbers.
With baccarat you will wager on either player or banker.
You won’t make any other wagers using the Power V Formula. With craps, you can
forget all about the long-shot proposition bets in the center of the table.
With roulette, you won’t be betting dozens or columns, combinations of numbers or
straight up number bets. You will only make even-money outside bets.
And, with baccarat you will never wager on tie. Just wager on player or banker.
The returns for each wager made are very good.
With craps you will win $1.44 for each $5 wagered.
With roulette, the average return is $1.57 per $5 bet.
And when we use the Power V Formula at baccarat, we will win $1.41 for each fivedollar bet.
If we use a return of $1.50 per five dollars wagered as our average return we can see the
power of this approach.
The Power V Formula © 2011 Silverthorne Publications Inc

As a $5 bettor we will expect to average $1.50 per bet. If a game lasts 25 wagers, we
would expect to net about $37.50 at this level of play.
Using a return of 30% per base wager you can easily estimate the returns per wager and
for the time played for different levels of betting played at different speeds.
The Table below shows the hourly returns for land-based play, at 60 bets per hour and

While none of the games are quite 50-50 propositions like flipping a coin, it is helpful to
think of them as similar to coin flipping.
With the Power V Formula, we first determine which betting mode we are in.
If we are in a Neutral Betting Mode we will follow the rules for Neutral Betting.
If we are in the Offensive Betting Mode we will use a different set of betting rules.
And, if we are in Defensive Betting Mode, our betting will change to match this mode of
betting.

Thus, before we start betting, we need to know which mode we are in. Fortunately, we
have an easy way to determine our Betting Mode. Each betting mode is determined by a
Signal Event. All we have to do is know the Signal Event for our game and then we will
know how to bet.
In addition to determining the right betting system to match the game we will also use the
Bet Controller to tell us where to bet.
So, to use the Power V Formula, we need to follow these steps:
a. Determine the Betting Mode (Neutral, Offensive or Defensive). This is the Betting
Vector or direction of the game at the moment.
b. Match the Betting Vector to the appropriate V-Bet Formula.
c. Watch for Vector Signals to tell us of changes in Vector direction.
d. Place each bets according to the Power V-Bet Selector.
We have a chapter devoted to each of the four parts of the Power V Formula.
But, first lets cover basic play for each of the games.

Playing Craps
Craps can be a pretty intimidating game for beginners. The table has wagers spread all
over it. The stickman is speaking in a language unique to craps, where a point of 4 is
called “Little Joe” and a point of 10 may be called “Big Dick.” Elevens are yo’levens
and when a player fails to make his point, it is “seven out pay the front line, take from the
don’ts.”
You can make hardway bets or bet on big red. Or make a “craps check” wager. Or
throw a bet into the field or bet that they come or don’t come. Or maybe horn or whirl
bets turn you on.
You might be offered an odds bets or even allowed to take double or triple odds. It is
enough to drive a novice crazy.
Fortunately, you will only have to learn the two most basic bets to win at craps using the
The Power V Formula – the Pass Line and the Don’t Pass wagers.
The most important concept to grasp about the craps game is that it is a game of rounds.
The first round of a game entails establishing a point and is called the Come Out Roll. If
a 2, 3, 7, 11 or 12 is rolled on a Come Out Roll, that round ends with a win or loss for
Pass Line or Don’t Pass wagers. If a point number of a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 is rolled, a new
phase of play begins where the object of the game is to see if the shooter can roll his
point number before rolling a seven.
A white puck is placed on the table to indicate which number is the point number. If the
puck is turned over with the black side facing up and placed in the Don’t Come Betting
box, the game is in the Come Out Roll phase where a point has yet to be established.
Once a point is established, the puck is moved to the back of the box for the point number
with the while side facing up.

The Pass Line
A Pass Line bet is made before a Come Out Roll. Come Out Rolls occur when:
1. A new shooter is starting.
2. After the shooter has started a new Come Out Roll and rolled a 2, 3, 7, 11 or 12
resulting in wins or losses for Pass Line and Don’t Pass Wagers.
3. After a shooter has made a point and is rolling the dice to establish another point.
On a Come Out Roll, a Pass Line Bet wins if a 7 or 11 is rolled. It loses if a 2, 3 or 12 is
rolled (called craps numbers). If a point number is rolled (a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10), then that
number becomes the shooter’s point. The shooter will continue to roll the dice until he
either makes his point, which is a win for a Pass Line Bet or rolls a seven, which is a loss
for the Pass Line Bet. If the shooter fails to make his point, he is said to have sevened
out and the dice pass to the next player who will have the chance to shoot.
So, to sum –
1. Pass Line Bets win on Come Out Rolls of 7 or 11 (called “naturals”).
2. Pass Line Bets lose on Come Out Rolls of 2, 3 or 12 (called “Craps”).
3. Pass Line wins if a point number is established and rolled again before rolling a
seven.
4. Pass Line loses if a seven is rolled before the point number.
When the dealer pushes the dice to you to roll for the first time, this is your Come Out
Roll. To roll the dice you will need to make a wager on either Pass Line or Don’t Pass,
The Power V Formula © 2011 Silverthorne Publications Inc

called Line Bets. Let’s assume you wager $5 on Pass Line.
If you roll a 7 or 11 on this roll, you will have rolled a natural for the Pass Line and you
will be paid $5. Go ahead and pick up your winning chip.
If you roll a craps number of 2, 3 or 12, the dealer will whisk your Pass Line wager away
as you have lost the bet.
Online Craps Layout
When naturals or craps numbers are thrown on the Come Out Roll, the shooter will
continue to roll the dice and the next roll will also be a Come Out Roll. Let’s assume you
roll a 7, followed by a 2, and then roll an 11. All of these rolls are Come Out Rolls since
you have not yet rolled a point number of 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10.
Let’s assume your next roll is a 6, which is a point number. Now the game moves into a
different phase. Rolling a craps number will no longer cause your Pass Line wager to
lose. Likewise, rolling an 11 will not give you a win with your Pass Line wager. Once
you have established a point, the only numbers affecting your Pass Line wager are your
point number and the number 7.
The Power V Formula © 2011 Silverthorne Publications Inc
16
All Rights Reserved
Since you established 6 as your point, your Pass Line wager will win if you can roll
another 6 before a 7 shows.
Let’s assume you roll the following numbers –
2 – No effect on your Pass Line bet
11 - No effect on your Pass Line bet
5 - No effect on your Pass Line bet
9 - No effect on your Pass Line bet
6 - You made your point. The Pass Line bet wins
With a Pass Line wager, once you establish a point, you must leave your wager in place
until it either wins or losses. During Come Out Rolls, you can pick up your Pass Line
Wager after any roll unless a point is established. For example, you bet $5 and the
shooter rolls a 7 on the Come Out. The dealer slides a $5 chip next to your wager as your
winnings. You may pick up both your wager and your winnings after this roll since no
point was established.
Don’t Pass Wagers
A Don’t Pass bet is made before a Come Out Roll. Come Out Rolls occur when:
1.
A new shooter is starting.
2.
After the shooter has started a new Come Out Roll and rolled a 2, 3, 7, 11 or
12 resulting in wins or losses for Pass Line and Don’t Pass Wagers
3.
After a shooter has made a point and is rolling the dice to establish another
point.
On Come Out Rolls, Don’t Pass wagers –

1.
2.
Lose if a natural of 7 or 11 is rolled.
Win if a 2 or 3 is rolled and neither win nor lose if a 12 is rolled. In some
casinos, notably casinos in Northern Nevada, Don’t Pass bets win if a 3 or 12 is
rolled, with the 2 barred instead of the usual 12.
The house bars either the 2 or 12 as a win for the Don’t Pass wager on a Come Out Roll.
This is done to preserve the house edge on this wager. If the Don’t Pass wager won on
all of the craps numbers of 2, 3 and 12 on Come Out rolls, then this wager would be
“player favorable” as it would have an edge over the house. And casinos are not known
for booking bets favoring the player.
Since 2s or 12s are not usually barred with street craps games, the Don’t Pass bettor
always has the best of it (unless of course the game is a crooked game using gaffed dice
or other methods of cheating the players.)
The house edge over a Pass Line bet is 1.414%
Its edge over the Don’t Pass bet is 1.402%.
For our purposes, we will treat these wagers as even-money bets. To be successful using
the Power V Formula at Craps you will only make Pass Line or Don’t Pass wagers. If
you want to learn about the other wagers at craps as well as learn more about the game,
you can pick up a book at your local bookstore which will give you this information.
Here we will cover just what you need to know to be a winner at craps.

Playing Roulette
Roulette – the name means “little wheel” – became the gambling game of choice in
nineteenth century France.
Roulette consists of a wheel, a ball and a table marked with separate boxes where wagers
may be placed.
Roulette is easy to play and a wide variety of wagers can be made. The American
version of the game is fairly fast with 50 to 60 spins per hour in a land-based casino with
300 to 400 spins per hour possible in an online game.
The French version of the game is more leisurely with only 30 to 40 spins per hour.
The bets are basically the Repeat in the French and American versions of the game, with
the principle difference being that the American wheel has both a zero and a double zero
on it. The French wheel has only one zero.
Another difference between French and American roulette is that games in Europe are
played with house chips, whereas in the U.S. special colored chips are used which have
no value anywhere other than at the roulette table where you are playing. When a player
buys in, he or she gets his own color of chips. This makes it much easier to track your
wagers, especially when several players may place their wagers on the Repeat number or
spot.
United States Rules
A U.S. roulette wheel consists of 38 numbered slots, corresponding to numbers 1 to 36
and a zero and double zero.

The betting layout consists of every individual number as well as a number of outside
bets and combinations of bets.
Players may generally continue to make their wagers even after the ball is spinning until
the dealer indicates, “No more bets.”
An American wheel is shown below:
An American Roulette Wheel
In the typical American version of roulette, all wagers lose when a zero or double zero
shows (except wagers made on either the zero or double zero). When played this way,
the house edge on all bets is 1/19 or 5.26%, except for one bet. The exception is the bet
covering the 0-00-1-2-3 combination, which has a house edge of 7.89%, and is the worst
bet you can make at roulette.
Single Zero Rules
A few places in the U.S. offer single zero roulette. Playing with a single zero wheel
lowers the house edge on every wager to 1/37 or 2.70%. Below is a list of U.S. casinos
offering single zero roulette wheels:

Atlantic City Rules
Atlantic City roulette games use a variation of the European en prison (imprisonment)
rule. Whenever a 0 or 00 shows, even money wagers (red-black, odd-even, high-low)
only lose half of the wager. This lowers the house edge on these wagers to 2.63%. This
rule does not apply to single zero games.

European Rules
European roulette uses a single-zero wheel and incorporates the en prison (imprisonment)
rule. Under this rule if the ball lands on zero, then even money wagers (red-black, oddeven, high-low) only lose half of the wager or the bet becomes imprisoned. If an
imprisoned bet wins on the next spin, it is released and the player gets it back without
winnings. The similar la partage rule offers half of the wager back without the option to
go to prison. The house edge with either rule is 1.3514%.
California Roulette
In California, cards must be used to determine the outcome of wagers in all table games,
including craps and roulette. (This is another example of how our politicians remain ever
vigilant to protect the public interest.)
Pala uses a wheel with 38 slots, identified by color only. It has 12 red, 12 white, 12 blue
and 2 green. There is also a 38-card deck, with one card each for all of the 38 possible
outcomes in double-zero roulette. Four cards are dealt from the deck and placed on
colored regions of the table, one for each color of the wheel. The color the ball lands in
determines which card is flipped over, determining the value of the spin.
Barona has a wheel with 36 slots, numbered 1 to 36. There is also a 37-card deck, with
one card each for all 37 possible outcomes in single-zero roulette. Three cards are dealt
from the deck and placed on the table in the regions labeled “1-12, 13-24 and 25-36.”
The range the ball falls into determines which card is flipped over, which determines the
value of the spin.
Harrah’s Rincon uses a bingo hopper with 76 balls, two each of every ball numbered 1 to
36 plus 0 and 00. A ball is drawn which corresponds to the value of each spin.

Playing Baccarat
If you would like to learn a game with a low house edge that is very simple to play, then
look no further than baccarat. The house edge for the two bets you will consider making
(banker and player) are slightly over one percent, beating the best versions of roulette and
craps for even-money bets.
There are two versions of baccarat – the big table version and the mini-version. The rules
are essentially the Repeat except that “Big Table Baccarat” has more elaborate
procedures, higher minimum wagers and is played at a slower pace.
The Mini-Baccarat game is the game you are most likely to find in American casinos as
well as in online casinos. This version of the game is played on a blackjack-sized table.
The major difference between this version of the game and the version played on the big
tables is that in mini-baccarat all hands are dealt by the dealer and the players never touch
them. Other than that, the rules are Repeat, except of course, that the mini version has
much lower minimum wagers and you can usually find tables with $5 minimums in most
U.S. casinos. Online, you can find tables with $1 minimum wagers.
The only decision the player makes in baccarat is whether to wager on Player, Banker or
Tie. After the players make their wagers, a round of play begins and two 2-card hands
are dealt from a shoe that contains eight decks of cards. One 2-card hand is dealt for
Player and one for Banker. The values of the two cards are added together with the
object of the game to get as close to 9 as possible.
After the values of each hand with two cards is determined, a third card may be drawn by
either the Player, the Banker or both. But this decision is not at the discretion of the
players or the dealer. The rules of the game determine whether each hand draws a third
card.
The name of baccarat comes from the Italian word for zero, and you will see lots of hands
totaling zero in this game. All 10s and face cards count as zero, while all other hands

from ace through 9 are counted at their face values. So, a hand of King, 7, has a total of
7; 10, 3, has a total of 3; Queen, 6 has a total of 6; and a hand of ace, Jack, which would
be a great hand in blackjack, only has a total of 1. Also, there is no busting in Baccarat,
as the highest card total is 9. If your cards total more than 9, you subtract 10 to get the
value of the hand. For example, 8,7 totals 15, but you subtract 10 to determine its value
of 5. So, 8,3 has a value of 1, and 9,6 has a value of 5. And, 5, 5 has a value of 0.
Since the object of the game is to have a total as close to 9 as possible, after the first two
cards are dealt, if either the Player or Banker has a total of 9, which is a natural, then that
hand is the winner. If neither hand has a value of 9, then the next best hand is one
totaling 8, which is also called a natural and that hand would be the winner. If both the
Payer and Banker end with the Repeat total, then it is a tie and neither hand wins.
If neither the Player nor the Banker has an 8 or 9, then the rules of the game determine
whether each hand draws a third card. Once that is done, the values of the cards are
added together to determine which hand wins. If both hands end up with the Repeat total,
then it is a tie and neither hand wins or loses.
Banker and Player bets pay off at even money or $1 for every $1 bet. The casino edge on
a Player wager is 1.36% slightly better than pass line or don’t pass at craps.
Because of the rules used in baccarat, if the Banker bet were paid off 1 to 1, it would
have a slight edge over the house. To retain the casino advantage over the wager, the
casino has to make an adjustment to how the wager is paid.
The house has to treat the Banker bet slightly differently than the Player wager to swing
the house edge back in favor of the house. This is done by charging players with winning
Banker wagers a 5% commission on their winnings. Thus, if you win a $10 Banker
wager, the dealer will put 50 cents in the commission box for the player winning the
Banker wager. When you leave the table or when the cards are shuffled, commissions
are usually collected.

The Baccarat Online Game
When you play baccarat online, commissions on winning Banker bets are collected by
deducting the amount of the commission from your winnings as they are paid. Thus, if
you win a $10 Banker bet, you will receive $9.50 as your winnings. After deducting
commissions on winning Banker wagers, the house has an edge of 1.17% on Banker bets.
Ties pay off at 8-to-1, or $8 for every $1 bet. This is a big payoff, but is actually a lousy
wager as the house edge is a very high 14.1%. You should never wager on a Tie.
The only confusing part of Baccarat is trying to understand the rules concerning the draw
of the third card. However, you don’t need to know all of these rules to play as the dealer
makes the decisions for you. All you really have to be concerned about is whether your
wager wins or loses.

How Much Will You Bet?
The Power V Formula consists of following these steps when used with even-money bets
in craps, roulette and baccarat –
Determining the Betting Mode (Neutral, Offensive or Defensive)
Matching a Betting Formula to the Mode
Watching for Vector Signals which call for changes
Using the Power V-Bet Selector
The Betting Formula for each Betting Mode determines the size of each bet while the
Power V-Bet Selector determines where each bet is placed.
We will devote one chapter to each of these methods and then show how we combine
them to beat the games of craps, roulette and baccarat.
There are different betting series used for each mode of the game.
Let’s take a look at the Betting Series Used for playing Craps when in the Offensive
Betting Mode.
Neutral Betting
This Neutral Betting Series for a craps game using $5 Base Bets would be:
5 8 13 20 30
Games with $2 or $3 or even $25 minimum wagers will each have a defined betting
series matching the level of the game.

Different Neutral Betting Series are used for the games of roulette and baccarat.
However, the Repeat betting rules are used for each Neutral Betting Series. These betting
rules are:
1. Always start any betting series with the lowest level bet. To begin the $5
betting series, wager $5. If this bet wins, stay at this level of betting. If this bet
loses, raise your next bet to the next higher bet in the Betting Series.
2. If a bet loses, raise the next bet one level to the next higher wager in the
Betting Series. If you lose the $5 bet in the $5 betting series, wager $8 next.
3. Reduce your next bet one level following a winning wager. If you wager $8 in
the $5 betting series and win, bet $5 next.
4. Anytime you win two bets in a row or win two out of three bets, drop the next
wager two bet levels in the Betting Series.
Let’s assume the following sequence of wagers using the $5 Betting Series:

Defensive Betting
A different Betting Series is used when the mode of the game is Defensive. Defensive
Betting Series are set up as Martingale type of betting series where only one win is
required to complete the betting series.
Playing craps in a game allowing $1 minimum bet, you would use the following
Defensive Bets: 1 2 4 8 16 32.

You will move into Defensive Betting Mode after losing two consecutive bets in Neutral
Betting Mode.
Offensive Betting
You will move into Offensive Betting Mode following two consecutive winning bets in
Neutral Betting Mode.
The Offensive Betting Rules are as follows:
1. Increase the Neutral Bet for that level by one unit. For example, if the normal
Neutral Bet is $5, increase the bet to $6.

2. If the first Offensive Bet wins, increase the next bet by another unit. Example:
If a $6 bet wins increase the next bet to $7.
3. If you win two Offensive Bets in a row, regress to the original Neutral Series
bet after two wins. Example: Neutral Bet is $5. First Offensive Bet of $6 won.
Second Offensive Bet of $6 won. Regress to $5 for third Offensive Bet.
4. If you win the third Offensive Bet, continue to increase each bet by one unit as
long as the winning streak continues.
5. Upon the loss of any Offensive Bet, resume betting in the Neutral Betting
Series one level higher than the Neutral Bet level lost.
Below is illustrated a series of bets where we win two consecutive Neutral Bets and then
move into Offensive Betting Mode.

Vector Signals
A Vector Signal determines each Betting Mode, such as Neutral, Offensive and
Defensive.
Craps is played using the following rules:
1. Always start in Neutral Betting Mode. For $5 Base Bets you will use this betting
series: 5 8 13 20 30. The betting rules have already been covered for Neutral Betting.
2. Continue in Neutral Betting Mode until winning two consecutive bets. This is the
Vector Signal to change from Neutral Betting to Offensive Betting as shown in the
previous example. Once in Offensive Betting Mode continue in this mode until losing
one bet. The loss of any bet in Offensive Betting Mode is a Vector Signal to return to
Neutral Betting.
3. Whenever you lose two consecutive bets in Neutral Betting Mode, you will begin
Defensive Betting Mode. You will continue in Defensive Betting Mode until wining one
bet. The Defensive Betting Series used for craps as a $5 Base Bettor is: 1 2 4 8 16 32.
If the minimum bet required is $5, then use this Defensive Betting Series: 5 10 20 40
80 160.

The Power-V Bet Selector
With the Power V Formula you will only bet on even-money bets at craps, roulette and
baccarat.
You will bet on every round of play. This system doesn’t require that you refrain from
betting and just observe some rounds.
Where you bet is determined by which bet won the previous round of play.
There are two patterns used for bet selection:
Repeat – With this pattern you will bet that the previous decision will repeat. If banker
won the last round, you will bet banker. If player won, you will bet on player.
Chop – With this pattern you will bet the Chop of the last decision. If banker won, you
will bet player. If player won you will bet on banker.
If a zero shows in roulette, you will ignore it in terms of determining where to bet.
Likewise with baccarat and craps, you will ignore the tie in terms of determining where
to bet
If a tie occurs in baccarat, you will ignore the tie in terms of determining where to bet. If
you are betting the Repeat Pattern and you have the decisions P (player) T (tie), you will
bet P the next round, ignoring the Tie decision.
If a twelve shows on a come out roll at craps where the 12 is barred as a winning roll for
the don’t pass, the roll will be treated as a don’t pass win since a pass line bet will lose on
this roll.
That’s all there is to bet selection. You will bet the Repeat as the last decision or the
Chop of the last decision. We will refer to these pattern selection methods as Repeat (S)
or Chop (O).
The Power V Formula © 2011 Silverthorne Publications Inc
33
All Rights Reserved
Now that you have our bet selection method, let’s go over how you will use it.
We usually start a game using the R pattern, that is, betting that the previous decision will
repeat. For online play, where no previous decisions are available and you must make a
bet in order for the game to function, the easiest way to handle the lack of a previous
decision is to just start the game with a wager.
At craps, start with the S pattern betting on Don’t Pass.
When playing roulette online the starting wager is usually on Red using the S pattern.
At baccarat wager on Player using the O pattern.
The chapters on each of these games have examples of using the system that will help
you understand how to use it.
If our wager wins, we will continue to bet for a repeat using the S betting pattern. The S
pattern is excellent for catching long strings of repeating decisions and it will put you in
the position of winning every wager.
We will always continue to follow the S bet selection pattern until we lose a wager. As
soon as we lose a bet we will change our pattern of bet selection to betting the Chop of
the last decision.
Assume we are playing baccarat. We have been betting on Player using the S pattern.
Banker wins a round. We change our pattern to betting the Chop of the last decisions and
we bet on Player. If our wager wins, we will continue with the O betting pattern until we
lose a wager.
Let’s sum up our rules so far:
1. We will continue using a bet selection method until we lose a wager.
The Power V Formula © 2011 Silverthorne Publications Inc
34
All Rights Reserved
2. If we lose a bet using the S bet selection method, we change to the O method for the
next round of play.
3. If we lose a bet using the C bet selection method, we will change to the R method for
our next wager.
There is only one additional rule to add that applies only to baccarat:
In baccarat, if we lose three wagers in a row, we will continue the current betting pattern
for another round of betting.
If we use “S” to represent betting the Repeat as the previous decision and “O” to
represent betting the Chop of the previous decision, our bet selection method for a series
of bets is as follows: R R C R, etc.
If we use “W” to stand for a wager we win and “L” to represent a wager we lose, then we
can match up our bet selection method and the outcome of each bet as follows:
Round
Bet
Pattern
Bet
Outcome
1
S
2
S
3
O
4
S
5
S
6
O
W
L
L

L

If you look at the bets represented in the previous table, you will notice that we continued
with a bet selection method until we had a loss that triggered a change in our bet selection
method. In the previous example we never lost three bets in a row. You can follow our
bet selection method easily. If we won, we kept the Repeat method, and if we lost, we
changed it.
This is the methodology we will follow nearly all of the time. However, if we lose three
bets in a row, we will stick with the current bet selection method for one more round.

In this example, we use the standard method of bet selection up through round 4. The
loss in round 4 gives us three consecutive losing wagers. The standard rule is to change
bet selection methods following a loss. If we had followed this rule, we would have
changed to the O method for round 5. However, using our special three-loss-in-a-row
rules, we repeat round 4’s bet selection method with the third loss and use the S pattern
again in round 5. In this example we won round 5. If we had lost this bet, we would
have reverted to our standard method of changing our bet selection method following a
loss and we would have changed to the O pattern for round 6.
Please note that whenever you use the special “three-losses-in-a-row rule” you will start
your count of the number of losses needed with the round following the one where you
applied this rule. Since we used the rule in round 5, we would start counting from round 6
on to see if we needed to use this rule again. If we lost our wagers in rounds 6, 7 and 8,
then we would use the three-losses-in-a-row rule for selecting our bet for round 9.

Neutral Betting
Neutral Betting is the default form of betting in each game. For instance, you will always
start a game using a Neutral Betting series.
Neutral Betting consists of using a predefined betting series for each of the games.
Each game has its own Neutral Betting Series. Each betting series was determined by
testing hundreds of different betting series and choosing the one which best balanced risk
and returns.

Neutral Series Betting Rules
The Repeat betting rules are used for each Neutral Betting Series. These betting rules
are:
1. Always start any betting series with the lowest level bet. To begin the $5 betting
series, wager $5. If this bet wins, stay at this level of betting. If this bet loses, raise your
next bet to the next higher bet in the Betting Series.
2. If a bet loses, raise the next bet one level to the next higher wager in the Betting
Series. If you lose the $5 bet in the $5 betting series, wager $8 next.
3. Reduce your next bet one level following a winning wager. If you wager $8 in the $5
betting series and win, bet $5 next.
4. Anytime you win two bets in a row or win two out of three bets, drop the next wager
two bet levels in the Betting Series.

Vector Signals
Vector Signals are used to determine the game’s vector, or major direction at that time.
Vector Signals are, as one player said, “up close and personal.”
Vector Signals are directly tied to how well a player is doing at that moment.
Thus, two consecutive wins trigger a change in the Betting Mode from Neutral Betting to
Offensive Betting.
Conversely, two consecutive losing bets trigger a change from Neutral Betting to
Offensive Betting.
Once you have shifted from the Neutral Betting Mode to the Offensive Betting Mode, a
single loss is the Vector Signal to return to Neutral Betting.
If you are in Defensive Betting Mode any win is the Vector Signal to shift from
Defensive Betting to Neutral Betting.
The key to recognizing a Vector Signal is two consecutive wins or losses in Neutral
Mode.
Single wins and losses are the Vector Signals when in Offensive Mode (one loss) or
Defensive Betting (one win).
Thus, each Betting Mode, such as Neutral, Offensive and Defensive, is determined by a
different Vector Signal.
Here are the Vector Change rules used for craps, roulette and baccarat:
1. Always start a game in Neutral Betting Mode. You will stay in this mode until a
Vector Signal, consisting of two consecutive losing bets, is given.
The Power V Formula © 2011 Silverthorne Publications Inc
39
All Rights Reserved
2. Offensive Betting Signal: Continue in Neutral Betting Mode until winning two
consecutive bets. This is the Vector Signal to change from Neutral Betting to Offensive
Betting. Once in Offensive Betting Mode continue in this mode until losing one bet. The
loss of any bet in Offensive Betting Mode is a Vector Signal to return to Neutral Betting.
3. Defensive Betting: Whenever you lose two consecutive bets in Neutral Betting Mode,
you will change to Defensive Betting Mode. You will continue in Defensive Betting
Mode until wining one bet.
As you play a game, you will change from Neutral Betting to Defensive Betting and
Offensive Betting as determined by Vector Signals.

Offensive Betting
Moving into Offensive Betting Mode is always exciting. You will move into this mode
when you are in a winning streak.
You will move into Offensive Betting Mode from Neutral Betting Mode after winning
two consecutive bets in the Neutral Mode.
The Offensive Betting Rules are as follows:
1. Increase the Neutral Bet for that level by 1 unit. For example, if the normal Neutral
Bet is $5, increase the bet to $6.
2. If the first Offensive Bet wins, increase the next bet by another unit. Example: If a $6
bet wins increase the next bet to $7.
3. If you win two Offensive Bets in a row, regress to the original Neutral Series bet after
two wins. Example: Neutral Bet is $5. First Offensive Bet of $6 won. Second
Offensive Bet of $6 won. Regress to $5 for third Offensive Bet.
4. If you win the third Offensive Bet, continue to increase each bet by one unit as long as
the winning streak continues.
5. Upon the loss of any Offensive Bet, resume betting in the Neutral Betting Series one
level higher than the Neutral Bet level lost.
Please note that you will never move from Offensive Betting Mode directly to Defensive
Betting Mode. Entry to Offensive Betting Mode is always from Neutral Betting to
Offensive Betting.
Departure from Offensive Betting Mode, signaled by any losing bet, is always from
Offensive Betting Mode back to Neutral Betting Mode.

Defensive Betting
Defensive Betting is triggered by losing two consecutive bets when in Neutral Betting
Mode.
A different Betting Series is used when the mode of the game is Defensive. Defensive
Betting Series are set up as Martingale types of betting series where only one win is
required to complete the betting series.
In games allowing $1 minimum bet, you would use the following Defensive Bets: 1 2 4
8 16 32.
If the minimum bet is $5, you will use the following Defensive Bets: 5 10 20 40 80
160.
Obviously, a higher bankroll is required to make the Defensive Bets in the $5 betting
series as compared to the $1 betting series. Whenever possible you should play in a
game with lower betting limits and use the lowest betting series possible for Defensive
Bets. For example, is you were playing in a game with $3 minimum bets, you could use
the following Defensive Betting Series: 3 6 12 24 48 96.
There is another option available in lieu of making Defensive Bets. You can skip betting
altogether and make imaginary bets using the Power V Formula System. As soon as an
imaginary bet wins you will resume making Neutral Series bets beginning with bet one
level higher than the last one you lost in the Neutral Betting Mode.
The option of making imaginary bets is an alternative for land-based play where table
minimums are higher than online games. For example, if you are playing at a $5
minimum bet table, using $5 Base Bets, you may not be comfortable using the following
Defensive Bets: 5 10 20 40 80 160. You will need $315 additional bankroll to make
these bets which is a significant increase in the amount needed to play at this level. In
this situation you may well decide to make imaginary Defensive Bets.
The Power V Formula © 2011 Silverthorne Publications Inc
42
All Rights Reserved
When you are playing online, making imaginary bets is not usually an option. However,
if you play in a game with lower betting limits, such as $1 minimum bets, you can use the
lower Defensive Bets of 1 2 4 8 16 32 with only $63 additional bankroll.
A final word on Defensive Betting. The purpose of Defensive Betting is primarily to
prevent additional losses when you are in the Neutral Betting Mode. By moving to
Defensive Betting Mode you may eliminate losing bets which would have caused you to
make larger and larger bets if you had continued to play in Neutral Betting Mode.
Defensive Bets can be thought of as more of a defense against losses than a
moneymaking proposition in and of itself. With the progressions used, a single win will
result in a small increase in winnings. However, the increase is small enough that if you
decide to forgo Defensive Betting and make imaginary bets, the profitability of this
system will not be greatly affected.

Winning at Craps
Craps is an excellent choice of a game with which to use the Power V Formula. You will
only bet on pass line and don’t pass at craps.
Limiting your bets to pass line and don’t pass makes for a slow game when a shooter is
rolling a lot of numbers between points. However, our testing of this system in thousands
of documented games in both land-based and online games proves the profitability of this
system used at craps.
When you use the system, start with a Don’t Pass bet using Repeat betting pattern. When
you begin a game you will always start the game in Neutral Betting Mode making the
smallest bet in the betting series.
The following Betting Rules are used for craps play:
Bet Selection:
You will bet on every round of play. This system doesn’t require that you refrain from
betting and just observe some rounds.
Where you bet is determined by which bet won the previous round of play.
There are two patterns used for bet selection:
Repeat – With this pattern you will bet that the previous decision will repeat. If Don’t
Pass wins, you will bet for Don’t Pass (d) to repeat. If Pass Line wins, you will bet on
Pass Line (p) to repeat.
Chop – With this pattern you will bet the Chop of the last decision. If d wins, you will
bet on p for the next round. If p wins you will bet on d.

Neutral Betting Series:
For $5 Base Betting, the following Neutral Betting Series is used for craps:
5 8 13 20 30.
Standard betting rules are used for Neutral Betting as follows:
4. Any time you win two bets in a row or win two out of three bets, drop the next wager
two levels of bets in the Betting Series.
Vector Signals:
Here are the Vector Change rules used for craps:
1. Always start a game in Neutral Betting Mode. You will stay in this mode until a
Vector Signal, consisting of two consecutive losing bets, is given.
The Power V Formula © 2011 Silverthorne Publications Inc

Offensive Betting:
The Offensive Betting Rules are as follows:
1. Increase the Neutral Bet for that level by one unit.
The Power V Formula © 2011 Silverthorne Publications Inc

Defensive Betting:
Defensive Betting is triggered by losing two consecutive bets when in Neutral Betting
Mode.
A different Betting Series is used when the mode of the game is Defensive. Defensive
Betting Series are set up as Martingale types of betting series where only one win is
required to complete the betting series.
In games allowing $1 minimum bets, you would use the following Defensive Bets: 1 2
4 8 16 32.
If the minimum bet is $5, you will use the following Defensive Bets: 5 10 20 40 80
160.
If you prefer, you can make Imaginary Bets when in Defensive Mode.
When you are wagering real money or making Imaginary Bets, as soon as you win one
wager you will return to the Neutral Betting Mode. You will resume Neutral Betting
making a wager one level higher than the last bet lost in Neutral Betting Mode. For
example, if the last bet lost before starting Defensive Betting was $13, you will resume
Neutral Betting making a bet of $20.

Here’s a round by round review of this game.
1. We start out in Neutral Mode betting $5 on Don’t Pass using the Repeat Bet Selection
Pattern. We win the bet.
2. Following the win we continue in Neutral Betting Mode with the Repeat Pattern of bet
selection. We Bet 5 on Don’t Pass and win.
3. Following two consecutive winning bets, we change from Neutral Betting Mode to the
Chop Betting Mode. We add +1 to the $5 bet and wager $6. We continue to use the
Repeat Bet Pattern for bet selection. We win the bet.
4. Having won our first Offensive Bet we increase the next bet by +1 and wager $7. We
continue with the R betting pattern and wager on Don’t Pass. We win the bet.
5. We have now won two Offensive Bets in a row. We regress to the original bet of $5
for this round. We lose the bet.
6. Upon losing an Offensive Bet, we always revert to Neutral Betting Mode and wager
the bet one level higher than the losing Offensive Bet. We wager $8. Following the
losing bet, we change betting patterns from R to C and wager on D. We lose the bet.
7. Following a loss we increase our Neutral Bet one level. We also change our betting
pattern back to S. We bet $13 on P and win.

8. Following a Neutral Bet win we reduce our bet one level and bet $8. We continue with
the R bet selection pattern and bet on D. Our bet loses.
9.With a loss in N Betting Mode, we increase our bet one level to $13. We change bet
selection patterns to Chop and bet on P. We lose the bet.
10. Two consecutive losing N bets signal a change to Defensive Betting. We change our
bet selection pattern to Repeat and wager $1 on D and lose.
11. We continue in Defensive Betting Mode making a $2 bet. Following a loss we
change our Bet Selector to the Chop pattern and bet on D. We win the bet.
12. Any win in Defensive Betting Mode signals a change back to Neutral Betting. We
resume betting with a wager one level higher than the previous losing bet in Neutral
Betting Mode. We wager $20 on D and lose.
13. With a loss in Neutral Betting Mode we increase our bet one level and wager $30.
We also change our Bet Selection Pattern back to betting the Repeat as the preceding
decision. We wager $30 on P and win.
14. With a win we drop our bet one level to $20. We keep the Bet Selection Pattern of
betting Repeat. We bet $20 on P and win.
15. After two consecutive winning bets in Neutral Betting Mode, we change to Offensive
Betting. We drop our bet two levels to a wager of $8. We increase this wager by +$1
and wager $9. Our bet loses.
16. Following a losing Offensive Bet we immediately revert to the Neutral Betting Mode
making a wager one level higher than our previous Neutral Mode Bet. We wager $13 on
Pass Line and lose.
17. Two consecutive losses trigger a betting mode change to Defensive Betting. We bet

Winning at Roulette
We earned our highest return per bet using the Power V Formula and playing European
Roulette. This game returned 31.4% on each dollar wagered. This is an excellent return.
With this system you will only make even-money bets at roulette. I prefer to bet on the
colors of Red and Black. However, you may choose to bet on Odd and Even or High and
Low. Once you make a decision on which even-money bets to make, you should stick
with it.
When I start a game I usually start with a bet on Red using the Repeat Betting Pattern.
You will always start a game in the Neutral Betting Mode making a wager equal to the
smallest bet in the betting series.
Bet Selection:
You will bet on every spin of the wheel. This system doesn’t require that you refrain
from betting and just observe some spins.
Where you bet is determined by which bet won the previous round of play.
There are two patterns used for bet selection:
Repeat – With this pattern you will bet that the previous decision will repeat. If Red
wins, you will bet for Red to repeat. If Black wins, you will bet on Black to repeat.
Chop – With this pattern you will bet the Chop of the last decision. If Red wins, you will
bet on Black for the next round.. If Black wins you will bet on Red.
If a zero shows, you will ignore it with respect to the betting pattern. If you have a bet of
$8 on Red using the Repeat pattern and a zero shows, you will lose the bet. For your next
The Power V Formula © 2011 Silverthorne Publications Inc

bet you will continue to bet on Red with the amount determined by the betting rules for
the Betting Mode you are in.
That’s it for bet selection. You will always bet that the last decision will Repeat or that it
will Chop.
Neutral Betting Series:
For $5 Base Betting, the following Neutral Betting Series is used for roulette:
5 8 13 20 30 50 75
Standard betting rules are used for Neutral Betting as follows:
Vector Signals:
Here are the Vector Change rules used for roulette:
1. Always start a game in Neutral Betting Mode. You will stay in this mode until a
Vector Signal, consisting of two consecutive losing bets, is given.

Offensive Betting:
The Offensive Betting Rules are as follows:
1. Increase the Neutral Bet for that level by one unit.

Defensive Betting:

When you are wagering real money or making Imaginary Bets, as soon as you win one
wager you will return to the Neutral Betting Mode. You will resume Neutral Betting
making a wager one level higher than the last bet lost in Neutral Betting Mode. For
example, if the last bet lost before starting Defensive Betting was $13, you will resume
Neutral Betting making a bet of $20.

Winning at Baccarat
While we won the highest amount per wager playing roulette, the game which provides
the highest return per hour of play is baccarat. Baccarat is a faster game than roulette and
because you can make more bets per hour playing baccarat, the net return per hour of
play is the best of all the table games where we used our system
With this system you will only make even-money bets at baccarat. You will bet on
Player or Banker and never bet on Tie.
When I start a game I usually start with a bet on Player using the Chop Betting Pattern.
If a Tie shows you will ignore it with respect to the betting pattern. With a Tie just repeat
the same bet and continue with the same betting pattern.

Baccarat has a different twist to its bet selection method than craps or roulette. In
Baccarat if you lose three bets in a row, you will carry over the same betting pattern to
the next wager.
Here is an example of four wagers showing the Bet Selection Patterns of Repeat –R and
Chop-C.

C

Here we lose wagers 1, 2 and 3. After our third loss where we were using the Repeat
Pattern, we carry over this pattern to the next wager rather than changing patterns again.
This pattern carryover move is not dependent upon the betting mode. For example, after
two losses you will have changed to Defensive Betting Mode. However, this change
does not affect your betting pattern.

Here is a round by round review of this game.
1. We start the game in Neutral Betting Mode with a Level-1 bet of $5. We start with a
Chop Pattern betting on Player (P). We win the wager.
2. We continue using the C Bet Selection Pattern and wager $5 on B. We win the bet.
3. With two consecutive wins we have a signal to change to Offensive Betting Mode.
We keep the Chop bet selection pattern and increase our normal wager of $5 by $1 and
bet $6. We lose the bet.
4. The loss of an Offensive Bet moves us back into Neutral Betting Mode. We change
our Bet Selection Pattern to Repeat. We wager $8 on Black and lose.
5. We change bet selection back to the Chop pattern. With two consecutive loses we
move into Defensive Betting Mode. We wager $1 on B and lose.
6. We have now lost three wagers in a row. Instead of changing our bet selection pattern

we carry it over and use the Chop pattern again. We wager $2 on Banker and lose.
7. We change our betting pattern back to Repeat. We raise our bet to $4 and win.
8. Any win in Defensive Betting Mode triggers a move back to Neutral Betting. We
keep the R betting pattern and resume betting in Neutral Mode at the bet one level higher
than our last Neutral Bet. We bet $13 and lose.
9. When we lose, we change our bet selection pattern to Chop. We raise our bet of $20
and lose.
10. With two consecutive losses we change to Defensive Betting Mode. We change to
the Repeat pattern. We bet $1 on Player and win.
11. A Defensive Bet win moves us back to Neutral Betting Mode. We stick with the
Repeat pattern and wager the Neutral Bet Mode wager of $30 and win.
12. Following a win we drop our Neutral Mode bet one level keeping the same bet
selection pattern of Repeat. We lose the bet.
13. We increase our bet one level and change our bet selection pattern to Chop. We bet
$30 on P and win.
14. Having won two out of three bets, we drop our next bet two levels to $8. Our bet
wins.
15.With two back-to-back wins in Neutral Betting Mode we shift to Offensive Betting.
We add +$1 to the normal bet of $5 and wager $6. We win.
16. We make our second wager in Offensive Betting mode, adding another $1 to our
previous wager and bet $7. Our wager wins.
17. Following two winning bets in Offensive Betting Mode we regress to the original bet

and wager $5. We win the wager.
18. So long as we are winning, we will stay in Offensive Betting Mode. We increase our
last bet $1, bet $6 and win.
19. We raise our Offensive Mode bet by $1, betting $7 and lose the wager.
20. With any losing bet in Offensive Mode we switch back to Neutral Betting Mode,
wagering one level higher than the last bet in this mode. We bet $8 and win.
21. Still in Neutral Mode we drop our bet one level, wager $5 and win.
22. With two consecutive wins, we change to Offensive Mode again and add $1 to the
normal $5 bet and wager $6. We win the bet.
23. We make our second Offensive Mode wager of $7 and win. Our net winnings have
reached $43, exceeding our Target Win of $40. We call the game completed.

The Importance of Target Wins
Although they may seem like an afterthought, Target Wins are a critical part of the Power
V Formula System.
Each level of betting has its own Target Win.
Target Wins give us reasonable win goals for each level of play.
Target Wins are set at levels that are attainable in 20 to 25 wagers. They serve the
important function of keeping our games short.
However, Target Wins also provide a way of reducing our bets from higher betting
levels.
Let me give you an example of how Target Wins reduce the size of our bets and help
protect our bankroll.
Below is a portion of a roulette game. We are using our normal Neutral Betting Series of
5 8 13 20 30 50 75. Our Target Win is $40.
By spin 14 we are down –38. Here’s what happens from spins 14 through 19.

Round by round discussion of play:
14. We wager $30 and lose the bet.

15. We change bet selection patterns to C raise our bet to $50 and lose the bet. We are
now down -$88.
16. Following two consecutive losing bets we shift to Defensive Betting Mode. We
wager $1 on Red and win.
17. Following a Defensive Bet win we revert to Neutral Betting. We wager $75 on Red
and win.
18. With one win our deficit position was reduced from -$87 to just -$12. We could
reduce our next bet more than called for by our betting progression. For example we
might bet $20 instead of the bet called for of $50. We elect to make the wager of $50.
We win the bet. We are now up +$38. In this spot I would either call the game over or
drop my bet to a minimum amount. We elect to make a $5 bet which wins. The game is
over with a win of +$43.
In the above game we used the Target Win to reduce our risk. As soon as we were within
striking range of the Target Win amount, we dropped our wager to a minimum amount.
Using Target Wins are one of the important bankroll safeguards incorporated in the
Power V Formula. Using them will help you win more consistently with less risk.

Long-Term Performance Testing
Each version of the Power V Formula was developed by testing different variations of
betting and bet placement systems and optimizing betting, bet switching and other timing
aspects of the system of each casino game.
After each version of this system was optimized to the point where we felt like we had
the best possible system for craps, roulette and baccarat, we tested the strategies in real
casino play.
We recruited a number of volunteer players and gave them instructions on how to play
the system and how to document the results of their play. Each tester kept careful records
so that when we were finished with the testing we had valid information for analyzing the
performance of the system at each game.
Our testers played in both land-based and online casinos and at various bet levels ranging
from $1 bets all the way to $100 bets. We normalized the results of each level of testing
so that the results were comparable to those of making $5 Base Bets. Once we had done
this we were able to combine all of the results of our testers.
Each of the summaries of results presented for each game in this chapter have been
converted to the equivalent rate of $5 betting. Thus, if you bet more, you will win at a
higher rate than the presentations in this chapter.
Craps Testing
All craps games were converted to playing with the following parameters:
Base Bet = $5
Minimum Bets = $1
Neutral Betting Series: 5 8 13 20 30
Defensive Betting Series: 1 2 4 8 16 32
Offensive Betting Incremental Bet: $1

We played a total of 5,160 games of craps in both land-based and online casinos. We
won 4,988 of these games, for a win percentage of 96.67%. We achieved our highest win
percentage playing craps, (roulette’s win percentage was 96.55% and baccarat’s win
percentage was 96.29%).
We won an average of $38.40 per game which is very close to our Target Win of $40 per
game. Please note that $38.40 is a net amount, with losing games deducted to derive this
amount.
We won an average of $1.44 per wager using $5 Base Bets. With this amount we can
predict hourly win rates dependent upon the speed of a game and the betting level.
For example, if we play with $10 Base Bets we can assume a win rate per bet two times
the size of the $5 Base Bet win rate, or $2.44 per bet.
The Power V Formula © 2011 Silverthorne Publications Inc

Now, to predict hourly winnings all we need to know is the number of bets we will make
per hour. In a land-based game we might average 40 decisions per hour. As a $10 bettor
we would average making $115 an hour.
Online games might average 250 decisions per hour. In these games a $10 bettor would
win $720 an hour.
Please note that these amounts are net of any losses and should accurately project your
net winnings.

There were 5,162 games in our long-term test of roulette. All games were played on
single-zero wheels in both land-based and online casinos.
We won 96.55% of all games played which is very strong. We won an average of $36.10
net per game played, just slightly less than our Target Win of $40 per game.
On the average, games were very short, with the average game lasting just 22.93 spins of
the wheel. In a land-based game, played at 60 spins an hour, each game would last about
23 minutes.
In an online game, with 300 spins per hour, each game would be wrapped up in an
average of just five minutes!
We won an average of $1.57 per wager using $5 Base Bets. With this information we
can predict hourly win rates based on different levels of play and different game speeds.
For example, if we make $25 Base Bets and play in an online game averaging 300 spins
per hour, we will average winning $2355 an hour.

We played 5,103 baccarat games and won 4,914 of them for a game win-rate of 96.29%.
We won an average of $32.29 per game at baccarat, somewhat less than our Target Win
of $40. I have reviewed the game and the only explanation I can find for this lower
average amount won per game is that the players stopped their games short of reaching

the $40 Win Target more often. We always expect some variability when testing is done
by human beings in live casinos and the lower average amount won per game doesn’t
bother me because the overall performance of the system at baccarat is so good.
The average amount won per bet of $1.41 is the most significant number to come from
our testing.
With the information that we had a net win of $1.41 per bet, making $5 Base Bets, we
can use this information to forecast win rates for different bet levels at various game
speeds.
For example, many players like to make $100 Base Bets in land-based games of minibaccarat. Let’s see how you would fare making $100 Base Bets in a game played at 80
bets per hour:
Your win rate per bet would be 20 times the rate of $5 play, or $28.20 per bet.
At 80 bets an hour, you would average 80 x $28.20 = $2256 an hour.
This should motivate you to use this system whenever you play baccarat!

Betting, Bankroll and Imaginary Bets
You can use the Power V Formula for all levels of play. If you choose to play online,
you will find plenty of games allowing $1 minimum wagers and you very well may wish
to start using the $1 betting series. For this betting level, as a craps player, you can start
with a buy-in as low as $17.
Dollar betting is the ideal level for someone who has little money or gambling
experience. Most online casinos allow play in “practice mode” so that you can try out the
Power V Formula without risking a cent of your money.
The betting series using base bets ranging from $1 to $5 can be used in online games
with bet limits of $1 to $100 for roulette and baccarat.
Since craps uses a different betting series for Neutral Betting, you can play craps with
base bets ranging from $1 to $15 in the $1 to $100 games.
With play in land-based casinos, you probably won’t use a betting series smaller than $5
and in some venues, you may have to use $10 betting series.
A word of caution: Always make sure that you have the required bankroll before
playing with a higher level betting series.
Defensive Betting works best in games with lower minimum bets than the Base Bets. For
example, the $5 Base Bet set up for roulette and baccarat, used throughout this book, is
ideal for playing in online games with $1 to $100 bet limits.

Ideal System for Playing In Online Games with $1 to $100 Bet Limits
Base Bet = $5
Minimum Bets = $1
Neutral Betting Series: 5 8 13 20 30
Defensive Betting Series: 1 2 4 8 16 32
Offensive Betting Incremental Bet: $1
Target Win = $40
To use this system as shown above requires a Game Bankroll of $264, consisting of $201
needed to cover the Neutral Betting Series, and $63 for the Defensive Bets. This is a
reasonable amount of bankroll for this level of play.
However, this system can’t be used in a game with $5 minimum bets because $1 bets are
not accepted. Therefore to play with $5 Base Bets in a game with $5 minimum bets, you
will have to use larger Defensive Bets and the following set up:
Base Bet = $5
Minimum Bets = $1
Neutral Betting Series: 5 8 13 20 30
Defensive Betting Series: 5 10 20 40 80 160
Offensive Betting Incremental Bet: $1
Target Win = $40
To use this system with higher level Defensive Bets requires a bankroll of $516,
consisting of $201 for the Neutral Bets, and $315 for the Defensive Bets. While this is a
profitable set up in that the loss of the Defensive Bets is so rare that the additional
bankroll will almost never be at risk, many players feel that this is too high a bankroll
requirement for play.
There is a lower bankroll option which achieves 96% of the efficiency of the original
system but which can be used with much lower bankrolls.
The Power V Formula © 2011 Silverthorne Publications Inc

Using Imaginary Bets
One way around having to use a larger bankroll to cover the cost of making higher
Defensive Bets is to not make any bets when called on to enter the Defensive Betting
Mode.
Instead of making Defensive Bets consisting of real bets, you will make Imaginary Bets.
To make Imaginary Bets, you will refrain from making any bets for each round of
Defensive Play. However, you will still need to keep track of where you would have bet
and if your bet would have won. With Imaginary Betting, as soon as an Imaginary Bet
wins you will revert to Neutral Betting, resuming betting one level higher than the level
of the Neutral Bet lost prior to starting Defensive Betting.
If you decide to use Imaginary Bets, then you will only need a Game Bankroll for
roulette or baccarat of $201 for $5 betting. When you consider that you will achieve
96% of the efficiency of the original system with a substantial reduction in bankroll, you
may want to try Imaginary Betting.

Summary of Bets and Bankroll Requirements for
Different Levels of Play
This chapter summarizes the betting requirements for bets ranging from $1 to $500.
Craps is presented as one section with Roulette and Baccarat presented as a separate
section.
Total Bankroll
Your total bankroll should be three times the size of your Game Bankroll. You can
determine how large a bankroll you need by referring to the tables for each casino game.
Craps Play
The following table shows the Base Bets, Neutral Bets, Defensive Bets, Offensive Bets,
Target Wins and Game Bankrolls for Base Bets ranging from $1 to $500. This table is
set up for making real Defensive Bets. Alternatives are shown for Defensive Bets,
depending on the minimum bets allowed in a game. For example, we show two different
sets of Defensive Bets for $5 Betting; one for $1 minimum wager tables and one for $5
minimum wager tables.

How Much Can You Make?
We believe that you can use the results of our long-term performance testing to
accurately forecast your win rates using the Power V Formula at craps, roulette or
baccarat.
In this chapter we show projected net winnings based on the results of our long-term
testing.
While your short-term play may vary considerably from our projections, the longer you
play, the more your averages should start to resemble ours.

Record Keeping
You will want to keep records of all of your games. I’ll show you how in this chapter.
There are a couple of reasons you will want to keep records. One is to honestly measure
how well (or how badly) you are doing. Most players wince at this suggestion. They know
that they have been long-term losers.
I am going to ask you to be honest and start writing down how you actually do. You don’t
have to show this to anyone else. But, aren’t you at least a little curious about your actual
wins and losses?
Another reason I am suggesting that you start keeping written records is that you will
eventually need them for income tax reporting. I’ll tell you more about this later.
I have given you a couple of good reasons to start keeping written records of your
gambling. They are –
First, to honestly measure how well (or badly) you are dong, and
Second, to have a record for income tax reporting.
How you set up your records is up to you. You may want to purchase a small notebook
which fits in your pocket or purse. I like to keep records on individual sheets of standard
size 8.5” x 11” accounting paper. I usually carry one sheet with me, neatly folded in my
pocket. After each session of play, I will update the information I like to record on the
piece of paper. Eventually, after I have returned home, the sheet will be filed in a looseleaf notebook.
Whatever system you use is fine; just make sure that you use some kind of recording
system.

For US players the basic rules for gambling are that all gambling winnings should be
reported on your tax returns as other income. Gambling losses are deductible only to the
extent that you report gambling winnings and then only as an itemized deduction. Home
ownership with the attendant home mortgage interest is usually the deductible expense
which allows people to itemize their deductions. If you don’t own a home, or if your home
mortgage interest is too low, or you have paid off your mortgage, you may not have enough
expenses to itemize deductions. This could mean that you end up reporting gambling
winnings as income but are not allowed to deduct gambling losses.
As a practical matter, most folks ignore their gambling wins and losses when filling out
their tax returns because all they have is losses, and they couldn’t document them if their
lives depended on it. Because of the skill you now have with the Power V Formula you are
more likely than ever to have reportable gambling income.
The easiest way to meet the IRS guidelines for documentation is to keep a daily record of
baccarat play, as well as invoices, receipts and other documentation from your trip. File
this information in an envelope, a file folder or a notebook.

Walking Out a Winner
The object of using the Power V Formula is to win and to walk out of the casino with more
money than you came in with. That's what this book has been about. If you want to have
fun gambling, that’s great too. It's supposed to be fun. But, if you have consistently been
losing to the casinos, then I question how much fun you have really been having.
There is no substitute for winning. Can I guarantee that you will always be a winner? No.
But I will guarantee that your play will improve immensely and that you will have a better
chance of winning than ever before if you follow the suggestions I have given you. Here is
a brief rundown of what you should do to become a consistent winner:
1. You should first read this entire manual. If you don’t understand parts of the strategy
you can go back to them later.
2. Learn the strategy for one game. Your best choice is mini-baccarat. Your second best
choice is single-zero roulette. I rank craps in third place because it is a more difficult game
to learn and because it is played at a slower rate.
3. Decide whether you are going to play in land-based or online games. Regardless of your
choice I recommend that you play in practice mode in an online casino and keep records of
your play. For instance, you can play in practice mode at Bodog (www.bodoglife.com/).
4. Learn the Power V Formula before you start playing. This entails learning where to
place your bets using the Power V Bet Selection Method. To learn how to use this strategy,
you should try it in practice mode. You can use the Master Bet Controller as your bet
tracker and record the placement of each bet in practice games. At this point, don’t worry
about the size of each bet. Just use a flat bet of $5 and practice choosing where to place
each bet.
4. After learning the Bet Selection Method, you will learn the Power V Formula Betting
Strategies. You will need to understand Neutral Betting, Offensive Betting, Defensive
Betting and how to transition from one mode to another. Before you start you should
The Power V Formula © 2011 Silverthorne Publications Inc

decide whether you will wager real money for Defensive Betting or make Imaginary Bets.
If you play online, you will have to make real wagers in order to activate the game. It is
very important that you learn how to use the bet Registry. The easiest way to determine if
you have mastered betting is to review the example games in this book and see if you
completely understand how we determined the amount of each bet.
5. After learning the Bet Selection and Betting Strategies, you will need to add the Money
Management Rules to complete the strategy. Be sure that you understand the concepts of
Base Bets, Game Bankrolls, Total Bankroll and how to use Target Profits.
6. Be sure to review all of the example games in this book, making sure that you
completely understand how to determine each bet and why we stopped play in each game.
7. Keep good records of your practice games. Be sure that you are consistently winning
before starting to play for real money.
8. Get ready for real play. The easiest way to do this is to deposit money in the online
casino where you have been practicing and start playing for real. You will have to adhere
to our bankroll requirements. If you decide to start with $1 bets, you will only need an $80
buy-in for craps Since many online casinos offer 100% match bonuses, you can get started
with as little as $40 and use the casino’s bonus of $40 to complete your bankroll.
9. Be sure that you keep accurate records. I employ record keeping mainly to keep score.
If I have a Profit Goal in mind, I want to know when I have reached it. I know for a fact
that most gamblers underestimate the amount of their losses and overestimate how much
they are ahead. Record keeping will not only keep you honest, but it will also improve
your winnings.
10. Set modest goals when you first start playing for real. It is always better to start
playing with a lower bankroll so that if you do make mistakes your losses will be smaller.
Only move up in play after you have built up the bankroll needed out of winnings. If your
winnings are not growing, then you are not using the strategy correctly.
The Power V Formula © 2011 Silverthorne Publications Inc
89
All Rights Reserved
11. Finally, learn to play another casino game. I suggest craps for a real change. You’ll
get the chance to stand while you play and even cheer the shooter if you like. My point is
that your casino experience will be much more enjoyable if you learn another game.
12. Play for blood. The best way to do this is to start out small and then increase the size
of your wagers as your bankroll grows. While the casino may not pay much attention to
your wins as a $5 bettor, the casino bosses will definitely take notice when you start
beating them making $100 Base Bets.
I hope you enjoyed this book and picked up some useful pointers. It's tough to win at
gambling. But the real trick is not to lose too much. If you keep your losses low, then
when the large payoff comes (and it will if you are hang on long enough to enjoy it), you
will end up a net winner.
I know how hard it is to use discipline in a casino environment. But once you leave the
casino and arrive home with real winnings, you will see the value in the strategies. I wish
you the very best in your gambling endeavors.

Summary of Power V Formula
Determining How Much to Bet
The Power V Formula consists of moving between different V Factors or vectors which
occur throughout a game.
There are three modes of play used by the Power V Formula:
Neutral Betting is the default mode of betting. Every game will start in this mode of
betting. Anytime a signal is given to change betting modes, you will return to Neutral
Betting.
Offensive Betting is used when there is a Vector Signal to start Offensive Betting.
Whenever you are in Offensive Betting Mode, you will continue in this mode until losing
one bet. Any loss in Offensive Betting Mode signals a return to Neutral Betting Mode.
When you return to Neutral Betting Mode, you will start with a wager one level higher
than the last Neutral Bet made before entering Offensive Betting.
Defensive Betting is used when there is a Vector Signal to change from Neutral Betting
to Defensive Betting. Anytime you have two consecutive losses in Neutral Betting
Mode, you will change to Defensive Betting for the next wager. Once in Defensive
Mode you will stay in this mode until you have one win. Any win in Defensive Betting
Mode signals a return to Neutral Betting Mode.
Vector Signals are used to determine changes in betting mode. There are summarized
below:

Neutral Betting Mode
When in Neutral Betting Mode you will use a Betting Series. Craps uses a different
betting series from the one used for roulette and baccarat.
Below are summarized the Neutral Betting Series for $5 Base Bets for Craps and
Roulette/Baccarat.
Craps Neutral Betting Series for $5 Base Bets: 5 8 13 20 30
Roulette/Baccarat Neutral Betting Series for $5 Base Bets: 5 8 13 20 30 50 75
The same betting rules are used for Neutral Betting regardless of differences in the
betting series.
4. Anytime you win two bets in a row or win two out of three bets, drop the next wager
two levels of bets in the Betting Series.
5. Whenever you have left Neutral Betting Mode because of a Vector Signal and then
returned to this mode, you will resume betting one level higher than your last bet in
Neutral Betting Mode. Example: You win a wager of $13 and then one of $8. Your
next wager would normally by for $5. However, with two consecutive wins you change
to Offensive Betting Mode. After any loss in Offensive Betting Mode you will return to
Neutral Betting and wager $8, one level higher than the last indicated level in Neutral

Betting Mode.
Offensive Betting
Two consecutive wins in Neutral Betting Mode is the signal to change to Offensive
Betting Mode.
The Offensive Betting Rules are as follows:
1. Increase the Neutral Bet for that level by one unit.
You will adjust the size of Offensive Bets upwards when you play with larger Base Bets.
For example, using $25 Base Bets, you will use $5 betting units to increase the size of
your Offensive Bets. As a $100 Base Bettor, you may want to use $25 betting units for
Offensive Betting.
Defensive Betting
The trigger to move into Defensive Betting Mode is the loss of two consecutive bets in
Neutral Betting Mode.
The Power V Formula © 2011 Silverthorne Publications Inc
93
All Rights Reserved
A different Betting Series is used when the mode of the game is Defensive. Defensive
Betting Series are set up as Martingale types of betting series where only one win is
required to complete the betting series.
In games allowing $1 minimum bet, you would use the following Defensive Bets: 1 2 4
8 16 32.
If the minimum bet is $5, you will use the following Defensive Bets: 5 10 20 40 80
160.
If you prefer you can make Imaginary Bets when in Defensive Mode.
One way around having to use a larger bankroll to cover the cost of making higher
Defensive Bets is to not make any bets when called on to enter the Defensive Betting
Mode.
Instead of making Defensive Bets consisting of real bets, you will make Imaginary Bets
instead.
To make Imaginary Bets you will refrain from making any bets for each round of
Defensive Play.
Whether you are wagering real money or making Imaginary Bets, as soon as you win one
wager you will return to the Neutral Betting Mode. You will resume Neutral Betting
making a wager one level higher than the last bet lost in Neutral Betting Mode. For

example, if the last bet lost before starting Defensive Betting was $13, you will resume
Neutral Betting making a bet of $20.
