2015
This year’s Cash for Kids Superhero Day is raising
funds to support Mencap in Northern Ireland.
Mencap is Northern Ireland’s leading voice for children with
a learning disability. The focus of this year’s Cash for Kids
Superhero Day campaign is Mencap’s Big Step Forward Appeal;
together we will build, equip and run a new children and
families’ centre right here in Northern Ireland. The children
being cared for by Mencap urgently need a new centre to do
so much more!
With more space we will we have more scope to offer children
and their families’ the support they need in a fully resourced
building of the standard they deserve. With your help we can
achieve this within the next 12 months, all we need is your
urgent fundraising support.
This year Cash for Kids Superhero Day will be on-air from 6th-8th
May, and there are lots of fun ways that you can get involved!
Be a Superhero and help us support local children who need our
help. Just choose your challenge and start fundraising!
If you have any questions please contact us on
028 9181 5555 or email cashforkids@coolfm.co.uk
Well done on taking the first step to becoming a Cash for Kids

Forward Appeal.
Thank you for your support!

Cash for Kids is the official children’s charity of
Downtown Radio and Cool FM. Our mission is to
raise money for the thousands of disadvantaged
children in Northern Ireland who rely on
charitable support.
Every penny we raise in Northern Ireland stays here,
to provide a helping hand where it’s needed most. We
assist in promoting the social, physical and mental
wellbeing of children and young people throughout
Northern Ireland, with a focus on improving quality of
life as well as encouraging personal development and
aspirational fulfilment.
Cash for Kids is a grant-giving charity, providing help to
disadvantaged children with nowhere else to turn to.
We also support other children’s charities throughout
Northern Ireland providing services to help local kids. By
supporting Cash for Kids you’re helping us to put smiles
on thousands of children’s faces every year.
Each year we help thousands of children by
supporting individuals, families and other
children’s charities in Northern Ireland.

Mencap’s Big Step Forward Appeal will make
a genuine difference to hundreds of local
children and their families, but we urgently
need your help to raise as much as we can
to build, equip and run our new children and
families’ centre.
This new centre will provide children and young people
with a learning disability with the right support and
opportunities to flourish and achieve their potential.
At the heart of the new centre will be Mencap’s nursery
for 2 to 4 year-olds with a learning disability, autism and
developmental delay.
The Centre will open on the site of the old
Newtownbreda Primary School in January 2016.
What will happen at the new Centre?
Working alongside health, social care and other
professionals involved in the life of each child and
family, the new Centre will provide the right support
at the right time and offer children with a learning
disability an inspiring place to flourish, learn and play.
It will also provide families with the information and
practical help they need.
Help us to take a big step forward by getting involved
in Cash for Kids Day so we can build, equip and run our
new Children and Families’ Centre.

Thank you.
Why is it needed?
We have outgrown our Victorian building and need to
move to a modern, purpose-built facility that people
with a learning disability and their families deserve;
giving Mencap the scope to support more children and
young people.

when we started,
but when we left,
we walked out
