A Warm Welcome for Center Guests Mary Vanderwielen has been a long-time volunteer for the Community Center. She can often be found serving up lunch for the senior nutrition program, or visiting with other participants in the lobby or computer lab. One of Mary’s favorite pastimes is cheering on her home team, the Green Bay Packers. When Community Center staff found out Mary’s brother and sister in law, also big Packer fans, were coming in from Wisconsin and joining us for lunch at the Center, they moved into action. On Friday, when Mary and her relatives arrived at the Center, they were warmly welcomed and seated in the multipurpose room. When it was time to serve lunch, all the seniors at the table received a delicious lunch of Chicken Alfredo and Mary was served a delicious plate of cheese and crackers, to honor her Cheese head heritage. Kerry Rappold, Tod Blankenship and Robb Rollins joined in on the fun, sharing Packers and Bears memories with Mary’s family. Summer Fun in the Sun Zumba Gold in the Park is back! There is no charge to participate and the group meets on an ongoing basis starting in May. Beginners will learn basic technique; advanced players will take us to new musical horizons. All will have fun and enjoy the classic musical approach: the song circle. Pass or play a song of your choice when it's your turn--our resource book will be decided but if you have the Ukulele 365, the PUA books or anything else, bring them to the first meeting. We're all a work in progress, so all levels are encouraged--if you're brand new to the Uke, we'll take some time assessing the overall level and make sure we all get what we came for without being overwhelmed or undernourished.
