Pittsburgh Knit & Crochet Show 2013 Don’t Rip It – Fix It With Kate Lemmers Short description of your class: Have you even knit all night to wake up the next day and find a purl stitch in the wrong spot, that you crossed a cable the wrong way, or lace pattern is just a little off? Well, don’t rip it all out, just drop down and fix it. In this class we will learn how to take just the problem stitches out, repair them and then carry on knitting with out taking miles of knitting out. We will also learn a few tips on how to make ripping easier when you have to do it. Length of class: 3 hour class Student skill level needed for this workshop: Intermediate / Advance Intermediate: Beginner level skills plus increase, decrease, and follow simple patterns Advanced: Intermediate level skills plus yarn over patterns, cables, ribbing, comfortable with pattern interpretation What specific skills are needed to participate in your class: Knit, Purl, Increase, Decrease, YO, Basic Cable, Read charts - written description is provided for homework, but charts will be used in class Items to bring to class: Your Home Work COMPLETED The needles you knit it on and a set of double points in the same size, Cable Needle, Crochet hook size F, G or 7 and Knitting tool kit. Homework: Materials: Smooth, worsted weight yarn in light color. No Novelties or Mohair Needle US 7/4.5 mm or US 8/5 mm. Cable Needle 3 Stitch holders Knit the three swatches leaving some working yarn attached and then place them on stitch holders. Knit swatches exactly as described, we are going to learn to fix all the mistakes that are there. This is not as easy as it sounds so be careful.
