CIL Summer Internship with the International Law Commission 4 May – 5 June 2015 The Centre for International Law (CIL) is accepting applications for a summer internship whereby a NUS Law student will have the opportunity to work in Geneva as a Research Assistant to Dr Kriangsak Kittichaisaree of Thailand, Member of the International Law Commission (ILC). The Intern will assist Dr Kriangsak Kittichaisaree with research for the first half of the 67th Session of the International Law Commission (4 May to 5 June 2015). The CIL intern will go to Geneva as soon as they complete their examinations. This internship* will enable a NUS undergraduate law student to learn first-hand how international law is developed by the International Law Commission. Students with international law mooting experience are encouraged to apply. (1) Your CV (2) A letter of interest that highlights your background in public international law and your ability to do research in the fields of international law under study by the ILC (3) A letter of reference from a member of the academic staff (at NUS or an exchange university) submitted on your behalf. TERMS OF THE INTERNSHIP The Intern will be employed as a Student Research Assistant by CIL and will be paid in accordance with the normal rate for student research assistants under NUS Regulations; CIL will provide funding for their travel between Geneva and Singapore, travel insurance, and a very modest subsidy for accommodation in Geneva; The Intern will be responsible for finding his or her own accommodation in Geneva; The Internship is open to current Law 3 and Law 4 students from the NUS Faculty of Law. Students with international law mooting experience are encouraged to apply; Because one of the objectives of CIL is to create opportunities for young Singaporean students to learn about careers in international law, the internship is open only to Singapore citizens or permanent residents.
