City of Sebastopol Public Meeting TOMODACHI PARK Laguna Wetlands Preserve Restoration & Management Plan Saturday, April 25, 2015 9:00 – 11:30 am Sebastopol Center for the Arts, 282 S. High Street, Sebastopol MEADOWLARK FIELD The City of Sebastopol would like your input. The City is preparing a restoration and management plan for its Laguna Wetlands Preserve, which includes portions of the Laguna Youth Park, the Americorps Trail area, Meadowlark Field, Tomodachi Park, and Railroad Forest. These lands along the Laguna have been protected to maintain ecological functions such as providing wildlife habitat, flood mitigation, and groundwater recharge, and to provide low-impact public access. Since 1998, the City, its resource agency partners, and LAGUNA YOUTH PARK local volunteers have worked to restore habitat on and provide public access to these lands. The Plan will provide cohesive guidance for caring for this Sebastopol treasure. Please join us to discuss: Protecting the Preserve’s valley oak stands, riparian woodlands, and wetlands, and the wildlife they support Facilitating responsible public enjoyment Coordinating volunteer stewardship efforts Opportunities to improve habitat for native plants and wildlife Increasing the visibility of under-utilized parts of the Preserve and strengthening its identity as a whole AMERICORPS TRAIL If you are unable to attend but would like to contribute written comments, please contact Kenyon Webster, Planning Director, at kwebster@cityofsebastopol.org.
