BOARD PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
DAN COMER
In the blink of an eye it seems that 2014
has come and gone and I would like to take a
few moments to go over another successful
year at the Clarinda Chamber of Commerce.
• Record year for the 59th Annual
Clarinda Band Jamboree – 61 Bands,
24 Field Bands
• Sponsorship and coordination of the successful
Clarinda Craft Fair – 430 booths
• Completion of an Iowa State University Regional
Retail Initiative study
• Coordinated efforts for participation in the
Community Development Block Grant for downtown
façade improvement
• Establishment of the Clarinda Chamber of
Commerce Committee – Advised Fund at the Clarinda
Foundation
• Facilitated and received grants for the Page County
Freedom Rock project
• Designed and developed a new Clarinda Chamber
website – www.clarinda.org
• Coordination of a number of Community and Retail
Promotions projects and events throughout the year
Many individuals (chamber staff and community volunteers included) are to thank for keeping our Chamber organization clicking at a high level and you should be proud of
what your community and its leaders have and will continue
to accomplish.
Looking to 2015 we have a lot of exciting things on the
horizon. Sometime in the spring we hope to receive good
news regarding the Community Development Block Grant
program which many of you have already committed to
being a part of. If granted, I expect a busy two-year period
for the Chamber and community business owners alike. We
also will be coordinating our “annual events and programs”
that many citizens and chamber members benefit from
directly. We typically hear good things about these events
and will continue to make them even better.
As with many years, 2014 had many success stories and
a few challenges mixed in. The Chamber Board of
Directors and staff are always looking for ways to bring
more value to your membership and that will continue. If
you have any comments, questions, or suggestions I challenge you to get on a committee and let your voice be
heard. Thank you for your support and time and I am looking forward to another great year at the Clarinda Chamber
of Commerce.

BOARD PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
DAN COMER
In the blink of an eye it seems that 2014
has come and gone and I would like to take a
few moments to go over another successful
year at the Clarinda Chamber of Commerce.
• Record year for the 59th Annual
Clarinda Band Jamboree – 61 Bands,
24 Field Bands
• Sponsorship and coordination of the successful
Clarinda Craft Fair – 430 booths
• Completion of an Iowa State University Regional
Retail Initiative study
• Coordinated efforts for participation in the
Community Development Block Grant for downtown
façade improvement
• Establishment of the Clarinda Chamber of
Commerce Committee – Advised Fund at the Clarinda
Foundation
• Facilitated and received grants for the Page County
Freedom Rock project
• Designed and developed a new Clarinda Chamber
website – www.clarinda.org
• Coordination of a number of Community and Retail
Promotions projects and events throughout the year
Many individuals (chamber staff and community volunteers included) are to thank for keeping our Chamber organization clicking at a high level and you should be proud of
what your community and its leaders have and will continue
to accomplish.
Looking to 2015 we have a lot of exciting things on the
horizon. Sometime in the spring we hope to receive good
news regarding the Community Development Block Grant
program which many of you have already committed to
being a part of. If granted, I expect a busy two-year period
for the Chamber and community business owners alike. We
also will be coordinating our “annual events and programs”
that many citizens and chamber members benefit from
directly. We typically hear good things about these events
and will continue to make them even better.
As with many years, 2014 had many success stories and
a few challenges mixed in. The Chamber Board of
Directors and staff are always looking for ways to bring
more value to your membership and that will continue. If
you have any comments, questions, or suggestions I challenge you to get on a committee and let your voice be
heard. Thank you for your support and time and I am looking forward to another great year at the Clarinda Chamber
of Commerce.
