Since 1992, Knit-1 has successfully trained full time designers, technicians and selected students. This Exciting Course… Will be covering all major stitch techniques and their application to the fashion industry. We will start each area with an inspirational direction related to current fashion. The 10, 5 and 1 week full time courses start with the basic fabrics and move on to more complex structures. Participants will produce a series of swatches and or garments for each technique. Yarn selection, tool and machinery use is key in the design process and constant advice will be given. Courses take place throughout the year (see our website, www.knitdesigncourses.com for course dates). At times there will also be visiting tutors, industry suppliers, fashion study trips, individual and group reviews. Advice will be given on portfolio preparation and the best way to present your work to the fashion industry. Knit-1 Ltd, will issue a certificate on successful completion of the course, if required. If your application is accepted you will be sent payment details. On receipt of payment you will be registered on the course and sent a letter of confirmation. Enrolment will take place on the first day of the course, an enrolment form will be completed by the course participant. Places are limited. We will accept applications up until course commencement, should any places remain available. Our policy is to inform late applicants by telephone or email. Cancellation by the applicant is permitted up to 10 weeks prior to the start of the course (subject to a £150 administrative fee). Cancellation or withdrawal must be received in writing. Cancellations within 10 weeks of the start date are not permitted unless a substitute student is found. If a substitute participant is found we shall refund any money, less a fee to cover administrative expenses that we consider to be fair and reasonable.
