TACOMA PUBLIC UTILITIES (TPU) TACOMA POWER POWER MANAGEMENT SENIOR LEVEL MANAGER Tacoma Power is seeking someone who has previously held managerial positions in resource operations and trading, energy resource planning and conservation resources management. We are looking for a leader who is passionate and motivated to work with a highly productive group of individuals and become a member of Tacoma Power’s leadership team. Tacoma Power is a municipally owned electric utility serving approximately 170,000 customers across a service area of 180 square miles, and is considered one of three key operating divisions of Tacoma Public Utilities, the others being Tacoma Water and Tacoma Rail. “Customer Value First” is our strategic principle and we consider our decisions and prioritize resources and programs based on the impact to our customers and rate payers. Tacoma Power employs approximately 850 employees, 68 of which are in the Power Management business section. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a high level of integrity and people management skills who understands policy formulation and political environments. The Power Management business section is one of five business sections within Tacoma Power. The successful candidate must offer experience managing a diverse workforce. For Tacoma Power, finding the right cultural fit between the new Superintendent/COO, Utilities Director/CEO, the Public Utility Board and the other business section managers across the utility is critical. Requirements Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, engineering or related field and at least ten years of increasingly responsible experience in electric utility power supply planning, power supply portfolio management and operations and trading, and several years of leadership experience in multiple functions/disciplines of power utility management and operations. Compensation & Relocation Compensation will be dependent on experience and abilities with a salary wage range between $179,462 ‐ $230,068 DOE.
