Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and games begin at 6 p.m. **ADDICTION RECOVERY GROUP- There will be a large group meeting/open share group at New Life Assembly of God, 407 Schuylkill Avenue on Friday, April 22 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A new 12 step addiction group called celebrate recovery has started every Friday. The program helps with any type of addiction and is instructed and coached by community volunteers and some prior addicts. **BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP- The Tamaqua Public Library holds a book discussion group for older teens and adults the last Monday of each month. The next discussion is scheduled for Monday, April 25 at the Tamaqua Public Library, 30 South Railroad Street from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Interested readers should contact the library at (570) 6684660 so the staff can locate a copy of the book through the InterLibrary Loan System. PA ONE BOOK, EVERY YOUNG CHILD- In keeping with the state-wide initiative for promoting early literacy, The Tamaqua Public Library, will be participating in the PA One Book, Every Young Child Program for 2011. The book this year is Whose Shoes: A Shoe for Every Job by Stephen R. Swineburn. Children will learn about different professions through read-a-louds and will later enjoy a snack provided by the library. The craft this year will involve making a two-dimensional sneaker with real laces for practicing the lost art of tying.
