REGULAR COMPETITION CRITERIA
A Sample Score Sheet is attached.
The following judging criteria will be used in all competition rounds with (1) being lowest (Does Not
Match Elvis), and (5) being mid-range (Matches Elvis Somewhat) with (10 or better) being highest
(Matches Elvis Exactly), as applicable:
i) Vocals (Out of 15 points) – Ability to match the sound and quality of Elvis’ singing voice in the era and
category represented.
ii) Performance (Out of 10 points) –Ability to perform in the style in which Elvis would have performed
with respect to timing, melody and correct delivery of lyrics
iii) Stage Presence/Showmanship (Out of 10 points) – Ability to re-create the charisma Elvis created when
performing on stage through the usage of the stage and the audience, without performance enhancements.
iv) Appearance (Out of 10 points) – Ability to match the look, styles and movements of Elvis in the
specific category & era represented.
v) Overall Tribute to Elvis/Authenticity (Out of 10 points) – Looking at overall performance, how
authentic
is the representation in terms of the legacy of Elvis Presley.
The rule of thumb for judging purposes is that each Competitor is required to “play” the entire stage and
runway. However during some ballads Elvis did not move around on stage but rather stood stationary
throughout the performance so this judging rule will be applicable to the song material historically and the
manner in which it was performed by Elvis. Competitors are to rely on their talent and use of their individual
performance techniques without assistance of enhancements.
USE OF ANY KIND OF PROPS OR MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, OF ANY KIND, BY COMPETITOR,
IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED DURING ANY ROUND OF COMPETITION, and can result in
disqualification from competition or other disciplinary measures such as point loss as the Festival
may deem appropriate.
See attached list for clarification and specifics.
LOCATION & TIMES
All rounds of competition will be conducted inside the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena – 97 Hurontario
St.
i) Qualifying (Friday)–All Adult & Youth Divisions regardless of previous wins – 4 pm to completion
ii) Semi-Finals (Saturday) - All Adult Divisions – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

or liability should a Competitor be unavailable for his/her scheduled judging time due to other
commitments accepted by the Competitor, of their own choosing, which results in his/her
disqualification or elimination.
Collingwood vs. Memphis
The Collingwood Grand Finals are considered to be a Qualifying Round
of Competition for the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest held each August
in Memphis, Tennessee, however the general “rule of thumb” regarding
our Competition is that “Collingwood rules, regulations, practices
and procedures will always supersede Memphis rules” as it
relates to how our competition and its associated “rounds” are conducted
including Sunday evening’s Grand Finals.
We have confirmed this with Elvis Presley Enterprises and Graceland in
order to avoid any confusion among the competitors or the fans.
Our Memphis representative will be the competitor in the Grand Finals
having the overall highest score and may be in the Professional or
Non-Professional category.
Competitors who have pre-qualified for the UETAC at another
festival/competition location are not eligible to represent the Collingwood
Elvis Festival as per rules of the UETAC and must relinquish the position
and the prize money to the next runner-up with the highest score but will
retain the Grand Champion title & prize money here in Collingwood.
