READING NIGHT – Collins will be hosting Reading Night for all of our students and their
families on Thursday, April 2nd, from 6:00-7:00 pm. There will be lots of fun
activities for students to participate in as well as a Book Exchange in the Library.
If students bring in some books that they no longer want, they will be issued a
ticket and will be able to choose that many “new” books at the book exchange.
This is a great way to refresh your library at home! We will be collecting books during
the month of March in each classroom for the exchange in April. Please plan on joining us
for a fun-filled evening!

COLLINS PTA GOLDEN ACORN AWARD
NOMINATION FORM
We invite you to participate in the selection of an award recipient(s) through your
recommendations and /or assisting in the selection process! The Golden Acorn Award is
presented by a local PTA unit or council to a volunteer in recognition of his/her dedication
and service to children and youth.
Each year Collins PTA gives the Golden Acorn Award to honorees who have given exemplary
volunteer service to children and youth in our school community. The Golden Acorn is given
for continued and dedicated service. The individual who receives the Golden Acorn Award
should have volunteer experience at the local unit level, as well as in the community and/or
with the school district. This is an excellent way to honor PTA members for their
contributions on behalf of children.
If you know of someone deserving of this award, please complete the information below and
return it to school by April 13, 2015. The Collins PTA Golden Acorn Awards Committee will
take all recommendations under consideration; however, the final decision will rest with the
committee.
I would like to nominate the person listed below for consideration for receipt of the Golden
Acorn Award.
