Dear Prospective Students and Parents,
Welcome to Blyth Academy’s Whitby campus! I would personally like to
extend a warm welcome to you and your parents, and invite you to come
visit us in the near future.
Our school is an outstanding educational environment whose
faculty is committed to providing an integrated university preparatory
education in a warm and caring setting. Our students are encouraged
to do their best and are given the necessary support to help them in
their studies and beyond. Our teachers are dedicated to ensuring that
students gain a complete understanding of the subject matter while
making engaging connections outside the classroom and to other
disciplines. Our classes are very small and communication between
teachers and students is consistent, encouraging and frequent. Our
goal is student-centred learning catering to each student’s unique
learning style where the teachers act as guides along the journey with
the help of our educational partnerships.
At the heart of Blyth Academy Whitby, we are interested in getting
to know who you are and how you see the world. We enjoy supporting
our students as they grow with us and on to post-secondary education
through dedicated guidance support from day one, experiential
learning in every course and personalized attention for every student.
Our central location in Durham Region allows us to integrate our
educational partners on a regular basis into the classroom curriculum.
From trips to study Shakespeare at the Royal Ontario Museum, study
Social Justice at the Station Gallery, sit in on a university math lecture
at UOIT or study how the human body works at Outward Bound, we
take learning out of the classroom literally!
We welcome your interest as a potential member of our unique
community and encourage you to visit us on campus to discover more
about your own future as a Blyth student.
Warm Regards,
Renu Chattha-Smith

This is my fifth school in five years, and Blyth is
by far the school at which I have received the most
support.
It’s so great! I’ve had way more support from
teachers, with good feedback and I can keep –
up-to-date on my marks.
