She is a trained trauma therapist and an accredited mental health social worker. She has a passion for exploring and studying comprehensive bodies of knowledge. Mary Jo has presented at national and international conferences and published in professional journals on her work. She has written numerous training programmes and practitioners’ manuals for social services and charitable organisations in Australia. She was a NSW Woman of the Year award nominee in 2010 for her work with children and adults traumatised by abuse. Before starting at BAAF in 2000, he was head of the social work programmes at Goldsmiths College, University of London. He is currently responsible for BAAF’s contribution to the development of policy and practice in social work, health, the law and research.
