Summer Camp Program Descriptions
Bridges Summer Camp
A two week funded camp that promises to be a fun time for all! Staff will provide campers
the opportunity to develop camp-readiness skills, follow typical camp routines and activities,
build their skills and experience community outings.
Service Ratio:
1 staff to 1 child
Ages Supported:
7 to 13 years old
Diagnosis Required:

Facilitated by trained Geneva Centre for Autism staff, Bridges
Summer Day Camp provides campers with a recreational
environment where fun and learning come together in a day of
structured activities. Camp activities provide the children with
opportunities to meet their individualized gross motor, fine motor and
sensory needs while encouraging communication, socialization and
discovery. Bridges Summer Day Camp emphasizes inclusion and
community integration, and campers are encouraged to participate
in community outings that are based on their individual interests, skills
and abilities with the support of staff.
Through partnerships with Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation, East Metro Youth Services
and Variety Village, Geneva Centre for Autism supports campers at outings in the local
community. Space is limited! Registration is first come, first served.
Zone Adventure Camp
Enjoy the sights and sounds around the GTA this summer with the Zone Adventure Day
Camp.

ASD are welcome
While attending the Zone Adventure Day Camp, campers between
the ages of 2 and 18 years old will participate in traditional,
exciting and fun camp activities. Trained Geneva Centre for Autism
staff will structure activities and outings to meet the needs of children
on the autism spectrum, however, children without ASD are welcome
to attend! At the Zone Adventure Camp, every day is an adventure.
The campers will participate in daily outings to community settings
such as Centre Island, Toronto Beaches, the Ontario Science Centre,
the Toronto Zoo and many more! Campers will be encouraged to
build friendships, set goals and challenge themselves.
Social Skills Camp
The goal of Social Skills Summer Day Camp at Geneva Centre for Autism is to provide each
camper with an opportunity to learn and practice social skills in a fun, supportive and
encouraging summer day camp atmosphere.
Service Ratio:
1 staff to 3 children
Ages Supported:
4 to 13 years old
Diagnosis Required:
Yes
Geneva Centre for Autism’s Social Skills Summer Day Camp provides a supportive and fun summer camp experience that aims at
strengthening social skills to better transition to less supported
community programs. Social Skills camp staff and volunteers are
trained to facilitate campers to generalize targeted social skills in
recreation, leisure and group activities in a 1:3 ratio. Campers are
motivated to interact and learn through typical camp activities, such
as playing games, learning new interactive songs, and making
crafts. Social skills, including play, social communication and making
friends are taught and rehearsed in each activity.
Sibshops Summer Camp

another. Come join us for a week of sibling fun!
