Welcome
H
appy New Year!
We hope you
all have had a
relaxing break and are
now raring to go for a
productive crafting year
ahead. As much as we
love Christmas, it’s always a pleasure to see
new colourways and fresh designs creeping
into our craft stash and, along with it, some
tempting new ideas. This issue we will be
showing you both, with new paper collections
and inspirational projects from our team of
talented designers.
This will also be our last bi-monthly issue.
For a long time now you have been asking if
Creativity can be a monthly magazine and
finally that day is almost here. From March
we will be trotting out Creativity on the 1st
of every month, so you will have even more
ideas to follow and more gifts included too,
so you won’t want to miss out on getting your
hands on every issue.
Don’t forget your docrafts Creativity
Essentials voucher booklet where you will
find some great money-saving vouchers on
the newest products hitting the shelves.

B
ake this biscuit box for a friend by following
my easy steps – even a novice can master
this fun baking project with a little patience.
Bake six 12cm square biscuits for the box and
whilst warm, use a square cardboard template and
a knife to trim back into shape. Bake a selection
of biscuits for inside, creating the mini ones by
cutting the dough with the base of a large nozzle.

We were very impressed by this hanging set of plaques that
it almost won first place! The gorgeous mix of papers, ribbon
and embellishments made it a real show-stopper and a great
gift for a best friend. Jackie created a wonderful gift box to
present it. Her friends are very lucky to have a pal like Jackie!

Make... a concertina card
Follow Keren's steps to create this special card
1
Take an A6 card blank and score 5mm
either side of the spine. Fold the card
as normal then fold the score lines the
opposite way – so you end up with an ‘m’
shape. Do this on three cards and set aside.
2
3
Punch 20 stars from a variety of
patterned papers. Sandwich two stars
at the end of a piece of thread. Repeat for
all the stars to form 10 little dangles. Create
more dangles if you wish.
4
5
Place the cards from step 4 side by side
and position the final A6 card over the
middle with the ‘m’ of the spine facing down.
Secure to the cards with double-sided tape.
This will form the concertina base.
6
7
TIP: Punch shapes for decoration. To
create a flower, punch a large circle and a
small square and layer together. Punch six
small circles and attach to the back of the
large circle to form petals.
Die-cut a circular frame from paper and
punch squares around the frame with a
small square punch. Thread twine through
the holes and knot at the bottom. Use 3D
foam pads to fix to one of the panels.
Cut another card blank in half. Trim
3mm off each edge and position a
circle die towards the top and die-cut. Use
this template to die-cut an identical circle
through each folded card.
Take two of the A6 cards and open
them out. Position three star dangles
in the left aperture and two star dangles in
the right aperture of each. Secure above
the apertures with craft tape.

Available in various designs and in three different
sizes, these new-look palm punches easily cut
through paper, thin foam, vellum and cardstock
up to 300gsm and can be held upside down for
precision punching and aligning borders.
Available in-store from 11th January 2014.
Offer ends 31st March 2014.
Trim 2mm from all sides of the
template from step 2. Use as an aid to
cut patterned paper to mat on the panels
of the card. Die-cut a larger aperture in
the paper panel for the card front.
