These exquisitely hand crafted guitars are state of the art in appearance & tone quality.
Incredible volume with a rich, full bass end, the upper register rings like a bell. The tone quality
is very well balanced all the way up the fingerboard. The feel of the neck is superb and the
playing action of the strings makes these guitars effortless to play any type of music.
WHAT MAKES LOWDEN UNIQUE?
Every Lowden Guitar is made from selected solid tonewoods, with soundboards and bracing
materials selected from split wood only. For centuries top luthiers have used soundboard wood
that has been split (not sawn) from the log - this is absolutely necessary to produce the finest
instruments. Lowden guitars uses split wood for all soundboards and even for each individual
strut in the guitar bracing.
Many of the well-known acoustic guitar manufacturers have in recent years introduced
laminated wood back and sides for cost reasons (the use of plastics and laminates do not
necessitate production in a humidity controlled environment). However, the tonal sensitivity
and balance can only be achieved by combining selected solid woods with an appropriate design
and precise construction. Thorough seasoning and consistent humidity control throughout the
Lowden workshops permit the exclusive use of solid tonewoods with confidence.
INNOVATIVE DESIGN FEATURES
The development of body styles over the years has rightly focused on the aesthetics of shape
and form, enhanced through the use of shape and form, enhanced through the use of beautiful
tonewoods. However the real emphasis of Lowden guitars is inside soundbox where the aim is
to harness the natural voice of the guitar through the skillful tuning or “voicing” of every
individual strut in a unique bracing pattern.

THE STANDARD RANGE
Setting THE STANDARD for excellence in tonal superiority and quality workmanship in acoustic
guitars.
Lowden guitars are made in Northern Ireland by a select team of craftsmen who have been
trained by George Lowden. Every guitar is the result of a perfect marriage between the best
traditions of luthiers and innovative and unique designs.
The characteristic Lowden sound features a deep bass without overpowering lower-mid
frequencies, combined with sensitive full sounding trebles, even in the higher registers.
The standards acheived in the original O Series and acclaimed by discerning guitarists all over
the world are now embodied in our F Series, S Series, and D series. This increased versatility
enhances the appeal of the Lowden guitar to every guitarist and completes THE STANDARD
Range.
All combinations of body / top woods, with the exception of Walnut back & sides and Sitka
Spruce top, are now being made available in each of the four series (O, F, S and D). These
models now constitute The Standard Range. Mahogany, Walnut and Rosewood back / sides are
matched with Cedar tops, to give the 10, 23 and 25 models. Mahogony and Rosewood back &
sides are matched with Sitka Spruce tops, giving the 12 and 32 models.
