Summer Camp Guide Information
Welcome...
The Town of Cornwall is very excited to present an all new line up of camps for 2015.
Families are encouraged to browse through the various camps and decide what best suits
the need of your children. All our camps are designed to get out and play, make lasting
memories and enjoy summer break. We are offering a wide variety, with great flexibility
and exceptional value. Hope to see all of you at one of our great camps.
General Information/
Day Camp Policies
All our camps run from June 29 –
September 4, 2015. Day Camp
operates Monday to Friday from 8
a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
All Day Camps will be closed on
Canada Day (July 1) and Gold
Cup & Saucer Day (Aug 21).
The staff/camper ratios are:
3-5yrs. 1:10,
5-7 yrs.1:12,
8-11yrs 1:15 and
12-15 yrs. 1:15,
Volunteers are added to improve
ratios.
• Before and After Care is
available from 7:00-8:00 a.m. and
4:30-5:30 p.m.* You must register
in advance
• Children must be 3 years of
age before September 1, 2015 for
the 3-5 years camp.
• Nut Free / peanut-free lunch
and snacks are to be sent daily
with your child
How to Register
If you would like to register your
child - don’t wait! The Town will
start accepting registrations on
Monday April 13, 2015 at 8:30am
In Person…
Visit the Town Hall between
Monday – Friday from 8am –
4:00pm. You must complete the
registration information at that
time.
Over the Phone...
If your child currently attends
our day camp programs please
contact us to let us know that
your child will be attending. You
must complete a new pre
authorization form.
At the Come TRY Event...
Bring your child out to the come
try event being held on
Saturday April 25 from 1pm –
4pm at the Terry Fox Sports
Complex. This will give your
child a chance to meet some of
the councillors and learn more
about the camps.
Payment Information
Camper fees can be paid in full
or by pre authorized payments.
Your child is not officially
registered until the pre
authorization form is completed.
The camp payments will be
spread out for the duration of the
summer, with the first payment
being processed on June 29th
for a two week period.
Subsidized Participants
In order to secure your spot at
camp, you are required to
provide a VOID cheque for
pre-authorized debit, or complete
the credit card section at the time
of registration. The Town must
receive written verification from
the Province of PEI.
NSF Payments/
Declined Credit Card
A $20.00 service charge will be
applied to all NSF
pre-authorized debits and
declined credit cards. Failure to
make full payment by the end of
that week will result in your child
not being permitted to attend the
following week.

Qualified Staff
Camp staff are carefully selected
based on their former
experiences working with
children, along with their display
of enthusiasm, strong leadership
skills and sound judgment. Our
staff have been certified in HIGH
FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child
Development. This National
program strives to ensure that
staff has the knowledge and tools
necessary to offer the best
program for your child. Training
includes creative program design
to ensure safe, diverse, unique,
and age appropriate
programming. Our staff is also
trained in First Aid and CPR,
positive child management
techniques, parent
communication, and of course
how to have lots of FUN!
Extended Camp Care
We understand the demands of
working families; therefore, we
are offering our extended care
program. This offers options for
both before & after the regular
camp program. It is available for
all our camp programs, but you
must register for this program at
the time of registration.

AM Care: $10.00 / WEEK
PM Care: $10.00 / WEEK
Lunch Program
Do you get bored of packing
lunches, or does your child
bore of the same old lunches?
This year the Town will be
implementing a lunch program
option. The cost of the program
will be $ 25.00 / week and will
have designated pizza and
subway days. The other days
will feature children’s favorites.
You must enroll in the lunch
program at the beginning of the
summer.

Sunshine Adventures Camp Information
(Ages 3 - 5 years)
L
et your child discover new things about themselves and their surroundings this
summer at Sunshine Adventures. This camp has a low-key, non-competitive yet
structured atmosphere geared to the needs, interests, and skills of the young child.
The campers will develop new friendships, discover and strengthen physical capabilities,
explore the environment, and learn cooperation and teamwork. Weekly activities will
include games, arts and crafts, nature, and science activities, creative movement and
music, story time, swim time and of course field trips. A low counselor-child ratio is
maintained to personalize the activities, to ensure safety, and to encourage a sense of
well-being so they can grow into a healthy and happy camper while having a lot of FUN!

Fun Under The Sun Camp Information
(Ages 6 - 11 years)

he Town of Cornwall is excited to provide memories that last a lifetime with a safe and
welcoming summer camp for your child. Our goal is to provide a positive
environment, fun filled summer adventures where your child can learn and
experience a variety of activities and events. The summer camp staff has worked very hard
to ensure that your child(ren) is provided a high quality, well rounded program. During the
Town of Cornwall’s summer camp, your child(ren) will be involved in: Arts & Crafts, Sports &
Games, Music, Drama & Dance, Hiking & Nature, Quiet Games , Field Trips, Special Events ,
Swimming Lessons and regular swims. These activities have been designed to promote the
creative and social development of your children. Our program and all staff are trained in

R.E.C.O. Camp Information
Ages 7 - 12
I
f your child is the, “Outdoorsy” type, just loves the summer fresh air, and wants to try
something new which they have never experienced before, get outside and participate
in this new Summer Camp in Cornwall! The goal of the program is to emphasize an
active and healthy lifestyle where we connect youth to the outdoors, with outdoor recreation and sport experiences. This camp will expose the outdoors and nature by enhancing
their knowledge and introduce them to what they can do and how they can utilize the
outdoors to its full capacity. It is also targeted towards getting comfortable with outdoor
environments, team building, leadership, and developing relationships with nature and with
others. With this new camp, participants will be utilizing the Terry Fox Complex to its full
capacity, and other outdoor areas around Cornwall as well.

Jr Leadership Adventure Camp
Ages 12 - 15
D
oes your child think they’re too old for summer camp…..? Do they want to learn
some new skills but yet incorporate some fun activity? This all-encompassing
leadership program provides a unique combination of on-site leadership
development and some fun outdoor excursions. Brand new this year, the Town of Cornwall
Jr Leadership Adventure Camp will start youth on the journey to becoming successful
leaders. The program will have youth take part in leadership and co-operative games daily.
They will learn to lead by example and how to motivate others. They will practise their
skills by leading games and activities to other campers. This program will be a great way to
build leadership skills for the future!

Teen Extreme Camp
Ages 12 - 20
T
he Program staff work very hard to ensure that your teen is provided with a
well-rounded, high quality program.Our program is designed to provide a barrier free
recreational day camp experience that promotes personal growth and foster
independence for young adults with disabilities. Participants are encouraged to try new
experiences in order to gain self-confidence, learn cooperation, communication, as well as
increase personal independence in a safe and fun environment. Our focus is on individual
growth through accomplishing a variety of goals at levels specific to each individual's
needs, capabilities, and potential.

Survivor Camp
The Town of Cornwall is excited to offer our
first week long teen survivor camp! During this
program you will be playing all your favourite
Survivor games and contests from the hit show
like ‘Blind leading the Blind’, ‘Get Barrelled’ and
‘Rescue Mission’. This will test your limits! Will
your tribe come out on top? Terry Fox Sports
Complex, Monday – Friday, 8:00 - 4:30pm,
Swimming included at end of day with pick-up
at Cornwall Civic Centre. For boys and girls
aged 12-15. July 6 - July 10. $75.00 / Week.
Just Us Girls
The Just Us Girls program is a week long
camp aimed at improving self-esteem and
positive identity. This program will host various
activities including sports, swimming, cooking,
problem solving, and much more. After this
program is completed we are hoping your
daughter will leave more independent and
ready to take on the world with her head up

Camouflage Camp
Camouflage camp will get you off the couch and
into reality. Play all your favourite strategy games
including: Man Hunt, Bounty Hunter, Hunger
Games Dodgeball, Man Tracker, Capture the Flag

Tennis Camp
Come and learn the sport of tennis while doing fun
and enjoyable drills and skills, game play, and
individual skills too! Whether you are being
introduced to the sport, or have already played
before, this is the camp for you! The week will
consist of skill development, match/tournament
play, swimming, being outside in the sun, and
overall a fun experience. An experienced and
qualified instructor will guide you through the
proper way to develop tennis specific skills. Terry

Rugby Camp
Rugby is becoming more popular on Prince Edward
Island so this is your chance to be involved in a
week-long camp! Working with Rugby PEI, The Town of
Cornwall has developed a rugby camp targeted towards
youth that will be tons of fun doing all kinds of enjoyable
activities revolving around the sport. So come and spend
a week on our beautiful outdoor turf fields and don’t
worry, this is modified to target the youth population to
make it as safe as possible! Terry Fox Sports Complex,

Beach Volleyball Camp
Want to be on sand and in the sun at an awesome outdoor
recreational facility? Well, here is your chance to be
involved in a Beach Volleyball Camp on quality sand courts!
In partnership with Volleyball PEI, we have created camps
for the U12 and the U16 age group. These week-long
camps will provide skill development, game play, court
awareness, and just an opportunity to get out on the courts
with the leadership of a qualified and experienced instructor
to guide you through. There will be games, drills, and an
overall positive experience including swimming! Terry Fox
