Summer English Language & Multi Activity – Host Family Accommodation

Location of Course:
Students on the English and Multisport programme attend classes in the mornings from
Monday to Friday from 9am to 12.15 pm. All students are assessed for language ability on
arrival and are placed in classes with students of a similar level.

A progress test every Friday ensures that the progress of each individual is monitored on
an ongoing basis. CEC teachers are native English speakers and fully qualified in the

qualifications. The average number of students per class is 10-12 with a maximum of 15.

Sports Available on Premises Every Afternoon
After lunch the students can enjoy an afternoon of sport activities three afternoons a week.
On the other two afternoons, they go on excursions to venues of historical or cultural
interest such as museums, art galleries and castles.
Evening activities take place on three evenings per week and include karaoke, bingo
and a disco. A full day trip is provided every Saturday to a venue further afield.

Students attend classes in the mornings Monday to Friday from 9.30 to 12.55 pm. Students
are assessed for language ability on arrival and are then placed in classes with
students of a similar level.
Classes are interactive and the main focus is on improving the students’ spoken ability. A test
every Friday ensures that the progress of each individual is monitored on an ongoing basis.
CEC teachers are native English speakers and fully qualified in the teaching of English as a
foreign language. All possess a primary degree in addition to TEFL qualifications. The

One Full Day and One Half Day Tour Weekly
Students enjoy activities and excursions during the afternoons and evenings with a full-day
activity every Saturday. The campus boasts a state of the art leisure complex with two pools
18 and 25 metre, an indoor multi sports hall and 4 all-weather pitches for use by the
students. So rain or shine there is plenty to keep the students occupied. At all times the
students are supervised by their own leaders and also are accompanied by an Irish teacher.

Residential English & Multi Activity Programme
Our junior residential centre is located in the Cor k Institute of Technology. The
Campus is ideally laid out for the specific needs of the programme with classrooms,
food hall and residence within easy walking distance of each other. The newly
designed buildings and spacious classrooms combined with our highly qualified and
experienced teachers matched with a magnificent social programme all contribute
to form a world class programme for children aged between 12 and 17.
Accommodation
The residence consists of a state-of-the-art, newly constructed, purpose-built
complex with a gated entrance and 24 hour security. Students can stay in single or
twin en suite rooms. Each apartment has a fully-fitted kitchen and a comfortable
living area. Students enjoy delicious and varied meals prepared by the college
caterers. Accommodation is on a full board basis.

Following their morning language classes, students on the English and Horse Riding
Programme enjoy horse riding for five hours per week at our Equestrian Centre. Horse riding is
offered at all levels ensuring the programme is suited to riders from beginners’ level to
advanced. Under the supervision of professional trainers the students undertake riding which is
catered to their own level and includes cross country, fun & games and stable management.
These students also participate in evening activities such as karaoke, a disco and bingo as well
as a full day excursion every Saturday.

Activities
Full-Board Accommodation with a Host Family/Residence
Following their morning language classes, students participate in afternoon rugby training
sessions with official Munster Rugby coaches for 2.5 hours per day. The coaching will focus on
all aspects of the game and may include tackling, taking the ball into contact, ball handling
skills and performing skills under pressure. These students also participate in evening
activities such as karaoke, a disco and bingo as well as a full day excursion every Saturday.
Students will also visit the famous Thomond Park Stadium, the home of Munster Rugby.
