Learn how to apply layers to create a firm fabric, add embellishments to knitted and felted items. A supply list will be provided. In this beginner class students will learn the basic concepts of composition and then express themselves through the use of color. Oil pastel, ink, watercolor, and acrylic paint are all explored in this class. Inkle Weaving Workshop Students are encouraged to experiment beyond observational study and use imagination and memory as compositional content. The sidewalks of downtown York will become an artist’s canvas and a place for audiences to watch works of art being created right before their eyes. All artists are encouraged to participate. Money raised from the event is used to benefit youth art programs. Completed chalk murals are judged in two age-based categories: Adult and High School. A “People’s Choice” award is also given to the artist who receives the most votes from audience members and passersby. Artists are encouraged to participate as a group or individually; however, only one prize will be awarded per category. Registration is necessary to be eligible for prizes.
