Special attention is directed to the safety requirements set out in the Health & Safety at work etc., Act 1974 and any subsequent legislation. The Society holds exhibitors wholly responsible for the observance of statutory regulations governing the livestock and other exhibits exhibited by them. All exhibitors are accepted for adjudication on the understanding that they are capable of complying with the Health & Safety at work Act 1974 and the regulations which come under that act. Failure to comply with the statutory regulations will mean that the exhibitor will be asked to remove him/herself & his/her exhibits from the showground. Persons are admitted to the showground at their own risk and whilst every endeavour is taken to ensure their safety, the Society will not (save for death or personal injury caused by negligence of the Society, its servants or agents) be responsible for personal injury (whether fatal or otherwise), loss or damage to property and any other loss, damage, costs and expenses, however caused. Persons are admitted entry to the show vehicles parks at their own risks and vehicles and their accessories and contents are admitted to and left in the Show Vehicle Park at the owner’s risk and while every endeavour is taken to ensure the safety thereof, the Society will not (save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Society, its servants or agents) be responsible for personal injury (whether fatal or otherwise) loss or damage to property and any other loss of, damage, cost and expenses, however caused. The Society, its officers or servants, shall not be responsible for any accident, damage or loss, however caused, that may occur to any exhibitors or his servants, or to any animal, articles or property brought to the showground, or while entering or leaving or being carried into or out of the said showground. Each exhibitor shall be solely responsible for any loss, injury or damage that may be done to, or occasioned by or arising from any animal, article or property exhibited or brought onto the showground by him/her and he/she shall indemnify and hold harmless the Society from and against all actions, suits, expenses and claims on account of or in respect of any such damage or injury which may be caused or occasioned. It is therefore recommended that the exhibitors insure against fire and such liabilities as the exhibitor may incure under these regulations. 10 11 AMODAU – CONDITIONS 1 No entries accepted without entry fees. 2 No prizes will be awarded in any class where the judge considers the exhibits are below the standards of merit. 3 All classes are open unless otherwise stated. 4 All exhibits for competition must be bona-fide property of the exhibitor at least one month prior to the Show. 5 No person will be allowed in the ring during the judging except the President, Stewards, Officials, Judge and one person in charge of the exhibits. 6 All objections must be made in writing to the Secretary within one hour of the judging of the particular class, stating the grounds on which the objection is made, and any person lodging an objection must deposit £20.00 with the Secretary, which sum will be withheld if the objection is found to be frivolous, and all objections and questions of dispute shall be referred to the Committee, whose decision shall be final and from which there shall be no appeal, legal or otherwise. 7 All horses must be available to be measured on show field. 8 In all cases of brood mares, it shall not be compulsory upon the exhibitor to exhibit the foal, but he must produce a veterinary certificate to the effect that the mare has produced a foal during the current year. 9 A cow or heifer over two years old must be certified at the time of entry or be in-milk or incalf. If in-calf and not in-milk, the cow or heifer must calve within three months of the date of the Show. 10 A parade of all prize winners will be held in the main ring after the judging and any exhibitor refusing to parade his prize winners will forfeit all the moneys won by him. 11 One person only to be admitted free with each exhibit in the cattle, sheep and horse sections. 12 All Challenge Cups to be won three times and the cups to be returned in a good condition to the Cup Secretary by 1st June, 2015. The holders of the cups will compensate the Committee for any loss or damage to the cups. The Committee will re-present replicas in the case of perpetual cups, for an exhibitor winning it three times. 13 The Committee will not be responsible for any accident to either animal or person on the Show Field. 14 All persons found entering the Show Field except through the entrance will be at once given in charge. 15 The Committee shall have the power to settle any matter which may arise and which is not covered by the foregoing rules. 16 Children MUST wear a hard hat conforming to current standards in all best turned out and young handler classes. 17 All exhibitors are responsible for presenting their exhibits. 18 All dogs to be on a lead. 19 Should weather conditions make it impossible to hold the Show, entry fees will be refunded, but the Committee cannot accept responsibility for the expenses incurred by exhibitors. The Show will be held unless conditions are so bad that it would be unreasonable to ask exhibitors to subject the available livestock to the conditions of the day. 20 A £1.00 fee is to be paid by each exhibitor for the provision of St. John’s Ambulance service, as detailed on the Entry Form. The Show and its competitors will abide by the rules and recommendations set out within the appropriate breed society in relation to their class.
