Competitive Advantages
History – The One Leading Radio Station for Over Ninety Years
•
In 1922 an associate of Amon G. Carter suggested he invest in a new communications medium called radio. When
told the start-up cost would be $300.00 Carter replied, “I will give you $300.00, when it’s gone we are out of the
radio business”. Since signing on that year with call letters that stood for We Bring A Program, WBAP has been
serving North Texas, Southern Oklahoma, and East Texas. WBAP one of the original 50,000-watt clear channel
stations in the United States and holds title to the longest continuous use of a set of call letters in the history of
Texas. DFW residents have spent their entire lives trusting WBAP. In fact, WBAP is so trustworthy, the U.S.
Government has designated it the Emergency Alert Station for the area and all local stations monitor WBAP for this
important emergency service. WBAP has deservedly earned the trust of the DFW Metroplex.
The Dominant News-Talk-Information Broadcaster in DFW
•
WBAP is consistently one of the top rated stations in the Metroplex for reaching affluent, well educated Texans, with
very high income levels and high disposable income. WBAP reaches and sells listeners with substantial money to
spend and this means we deliver results for our advertising clients.
Phenomenal Signal Strength
•
WBAP has one of the most powerful signals in the United States, with 50,000-watts of clear channel power, with a
loyal interested listener family numbering over a half million. WBAP reaches 45,355 square miles of Texas during the
day and 80% of the continental United States at night. This powerful signal means consistent listenership.
Marquee Personalities that Capture Attention and Interest
•
We are often asked why WBAP delivers such consistent ad results. It‘s because our hosts break through the clutter
to ensure that WBAP is foreground media. Our hosts are highly regarded leaders in local and national media. Hal
Jay, Brian Estridge, Meteorologist Brad Barton, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Mark Levin, and more! Our
personalities separate WBAP from “rip n read” news. WBAP isn’t just the news . . . It’s about the entertaining
presentation of information to encourage long listenership, with consistent attention paid to the entire day. When
people listen consistently they will hear your advertising frequently and respond to it.
Exceptional Reputation
•
WBAP delivers exceptional quality programming without “blue humor” or questionable content. WBAP does not
seek short-term attention by shocking listeners . Our news coverage is sensational, but we are not sensationalists.
We bring a programming day the covers what is happening now in an entertaining style that attracts and keeps
people listening to a radio station that reflects very favorably in favor of our advertisers.
Upscale Audience with High Spending Power
•
WBAP is the market leader at delivering college graduates, homeowners, high income households, and people with
substantial spending power. WBAP consistently reaches the most affluent listeners in DFW for our advertisers.
WBAP Delivers Results!!!
•
The number one reason to advertise with WBAP is that we provide consistent measurable results for our advertisers.
WBAP’s affluent listeners are loyal to the station and they respond to the smart businesses that advertise with us!
The reason why you consistently hear many familiar brand names year after year on WBAP is because, just like it was
over ninety years ago, We Bring A Program of results for our clients!
