Any student wanting to be part of the 2015-16 Competition Lines is required to be registered for at least one ballet
class plus two other classes during the summer class schedule

Some classes are available on a “drop-in” basis. Cost is $10 per class. Please contact the studio about this option.
Proper attire for all summer classes is a leotard and tights. Any other clothing must be tight fitting so the instructor is
able to see body alignment and movement. Students should wear appropriate shoes of any color for each class.

Creative Movement - A class designed for 3-5 year olds to give a fun introduction to dance and
body movement, including ballet, tap and tumbling. Tap and ballet shoes are required for this
class.
Tap/Ballet - A class designed for 5-7 year olds to give a little more in depth technique in dance
and body movement using ballet and tap. Tap and ballet shoes are required for this class.
All Tap/Jazz - These classes are designed for dancers 7 years and older to learn technique and
combinations in both classic and more contemporary styles of tap and jazz. All classes are
combination and will not be available for any student to “split” to include only one style. Classes
are separated by age/experience. Jazz and tap shoes are required for this class.
All Ballet/Contemporary - These classes are designed for dancers 7 years and older. Classes
focus on technique at the barre and at center. Contemporary and modern techniques will be
taught in the center. Classes are separated by age/experience. Ballet shoes, foot thongs,
pirouettes, or bare feet are acceptable for this class. No jazz shoes, please.
Core Conditioning - This class is designed to focus on strengthening of muscles used during
dance plus endurance. Students must be at least 8 years old for this class. Various styles will
be utilized during this class. Jazz or ballet shoes or bare feet are acceptable for this class.
Jumps/Turns - These classes are designed for dancers 8 years or older. These classes focus
on increasing skill level for various standing and traveling jumps, leaps and turns expected at
each age/experience level. Classes are separated by age/experience. Ballet or jazz shoes or
bare feet are acceptable for this class.
Tumbling - A class designed for students 10 years and older to learn and explore multiple
tumbling and acrobatic tricks associated with dance and performance. Class size is limited and
students will only be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

All Summer Students are invited to take part in the End of Summer Celebration
Performance. Most Summer Classes will learn choreography in preparation for this
performance. More information will be handed out to students during July.
This year all advanced level classes will be technique-only classes and will not participate in the
End of Summer Celebration Performance.

Remember, Summer Tuition Fees are paid only once for the entire summer session.
All fees must be paid in full prior to start of session.
Students will be notified by phone one week prior to the beginning of summer classes only if a class is to
be cancelled.
We accept checks, cash, Visa & MasterCard.
Please make checks payable to: The Dance Company.
Fees and Registration Form may be dropped off before May 27th at the studio during regular classes or
mailed to The Dance Company (PO Box 361, Minot, ND 58702) before June 13th.
