The “Benefit” program is a project started many years
ago by the members of the Order of the Eastern Star in
Delaware. The sole purpose, was and continues to be,
to “make a difference” in the lives of our Children in
Delaware with special needs.
Money is generated by many projects: Ad and Booster
Booklet, which is composed of advertisements from our
commercial friends, well wishers; memorials; from
luncheons, dinners, and other events held throughout the
year. All labor, items for sale, and food is donated by
the members throughout the state or local businesses.
With the benevolent support of many, expenses are minimized; thus the maximum is available for distribution to
the children. Contribution amounts and recipients are
generated from a “wish list” gathered from schools,
agencies, churches and individuals which serve children
with special needs throughout Delaware. Awards are
distributed in May of each year.
We thank each of our contributors, whether the donation
is money, food, labor or moral support, for aiding this
humanitarian endeavor.
THANK YOU FOR HELPING US
MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN
CHILDRENS LIVES WITH
SPECIAL NEEDS

From the East of the Grand Chapter of Delaware
Order of the Eastern Star
This work we have set out to do is an amazing opportunity
for us. In this age of financial troubles, we are challenged
in our efforts to raise monies to help those children here in
Delaware who themselves face even more difficult challenges each day.
You are to be commended in these efforts. Each year it
gets harder and harder to raise a significant amount of
funds to help all that we really need to help. Each year
the list of children gets longer and longer and it becomes
so disheartening when we cannot accommodate everyone’s needs.
However, we try harder each year to wind up the Benefit
for Children with a better “bottom line” than we did the previous year. Will we do that this year? We’ll have to wait
and see.
I would ask every person, group or business who has
placed an ad in this booklet this year to come and join us
at Dover Downs Casino and Convention Center on Sunday, May 10, 2015 for the presentation of the cash
awards. It is a rejuvenator to be there and see the results
of what we are doing and what a difference it can make.
Stay tuned to our website for the time the ceremony will
begin.
Thank you all for your hard work. The children of Delaware with special needs will be truly blessed through your
efforts.
Bless you all!
