Annual Report FY 2013 Who We Are We are the Center for Independent Living that serves the Metro Atlanta Area. We provide services to people in the following counties: Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, Dekalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Newton and Rockdale. Our Mission disABILITY LINK is an organization led by and for people with disabilities and promotes choice and full participation in community life. It was a big year for disability rights. Despite moving locations at the end of 2014, we were still out in the community, sharing Independent Living Philosophy with our community. 2014 Accomplishments Worked with the Centers for Disease Control to increase accessibility in their museum Worked with the City of We celebrated our 15 Tucker to add a lighted Year Anniversary and crosswalk, sidewalk successfully relocated and curb cuts near our our office office A staff member advocated for and got sidewalk repairs for better access and safety Staff advocacy led to MARTA pushing back plans to privatize Paratransit service We partnered with Georgia Tools for Life to provide more expanded Assistive Technology services Consumers Served disABILITY LINK serves twelve counties in the Metro Atlanta Area. We serve population that ranges from young adults to senior citizens. We work to ensure that people with disabilities are in charge of their lives regardless of age or location in the region.
