Identify Tool

Minor bugs in the Identify tool have been fixed.
Bookmarks

Atlas bookmarks are now saving both layers and extent.
Social Feeds

The Scan tool has been enhanced to allow for a detailed look of the Twitter feed for a specific
region of interest.
Known Issues (and Workaround Solutions)
The following are known issues that are being addressed by PDC developers. If you find any issues not
listed here or have any questions, send an email to disaster@pdc.org.
Modifying Your User Profile

Issue: The “Save Last H&P Search” option prevents users from saving changes on the User
Profile palette.
Workaround: When making changes on the User Profile palette, make sure the “Save Last H&P
Search” option is unchecked.
Language Translation

Issue: Language translation may be inconsistent. Upgrades are coming in future releases.

Bing Overview Map Missing

Issue: Bing background map does not display in the Overview Map when zoomed out too far.
Workaround: Zoom closer into the map (so the Overview Map will reappear) or switch to a
different background map layer.
Layers

Issue: When Cluster View is enabled, clusters may not appear when the map is set to a large
extent.
Workaround: Zoom closer into the map to view clusters.

Issue: Tile lines may appear on Bing map layers
Workaround: Select a different browser or background map layer.
Bookmarks – Imported Images Sizing

Issue: In bookmarks, imported images will revert back to their original size. Enhancements are
coming in future releases.
Area Briefs

Issue: When “Use current extent” is used to generate Area Briefs , the “Infrastructure and
Critical Facilities” map may not display correctly . Instead a transparent gray box covers most of
the map.
Workaround: Generate the Area Brief using the Rectangle or Circle selection tools.

Issue: Area Briefs may not show all emergency shelters for the island of Hawai’i. This is because
Area Brief uses global data sets. There is no fix provisioned for this issue at this time.
Draw Tools

Issue: Map tips on drawings do not properly display special characters, such as ampersand,
greater-than, and less-than signs.
Workaround: Refrain from using special characters such as ampersand, greater-than, or lessthan signs in map tips for draw features.
Import

Issue: KML feed and GeoSHAPE upload options are having intermittent issues.
o Note: The GeoSHAPE upload feature has been made available as Beta for operational
testing. Beta functions may contain bugs that PDC’s development team is working to
resolve and will undergo further enhancement.
Export

Issue: Due to licensing restrictions, Bing Background Map Layers are not exportable.
Workaround: Switch to a non-Bing background map layer before using the Export tool.
Release Notes: DisasterAWARE 5.2.4 – Date: April 29, 2015


Issue: Some draw tool features will not retain all details when exported. This applies only to the
point and annotation features.

Issue: JPEGs cannot be exported in Internet Explorer.
Workaround: Switch to a different browser or use a screenshot function on your operating
system to capture an image.
Social Feeds

Issue: Some navigation functions will not work when the scan tool is activated.
Workaround: In order to navigate, deactivate the scan tool.
Live Cameras

Issue: Some Live Cameras in Hawai’i require Adobe Flash to view.
Workaround: If you are not able to view those cameras, please update your Flash software to
the latest version.
Administrative Functions
Creating Hazards and Products

Issue: File products with special characters (such as the # sign) in the file name cannot be
displayed.
Workaround: Do not include special characters when naming files that will be added as
products.

Issue: When adding or editing a product in the H&P palette the following issues sometimes
occur with the folder selection dropdown menu:
o Folders are missing.
o There are duplicates of certain folders.
