Can you make decisions that are guided by a firm faith filled hand that is open to the Holy Spirit? Then you are a discerner. Can you reflect on the Gospel so that God’s ministry is part of your parish life? Then you are prayerful. Can you listen to your fellow parishioners and present ideas that mold the future of the parish? Then you are a serving representative. Can you work well with others? Then you are collaborative. Can you resolve conflicts? Can you strengthen parish relationships and celebrate the peace of Christ? Then you are pastoral. Everyone in our parish has gifts … Please prayerfully consider the above questions. If your gifts match the skills above or if you know someone with these skills, please consider offering your name or theirs for this ministry of leadership. Thank you! From the Desk of Father Pauselli Congratulations to Landon John Yarem who will be baptized this weekend at Divine Mercy. Landon John is the son of John Thomas and April Williams Yarem. He was born on January 16, 2015. May the Lord bless Landon John and his family on this most special occasion! Next weekend our parish will be participating in the Catholic Home Missions Appeal. This Appeal supports Dioceses in the United State and its territories that lack the resources to provide basic pastoral ministry to their populations. Through annual grants, Catholic Home Missions fund catechesis, seminarian education, lay ministry training, Hispanic ministry, and other pastoral programs for dioceses in need. As a result of parishioner’s generosity, Catholic Home Missions impacts the lives of nearly nine million Catholics. The dioceses funded by the appeal comprise nearly 45 percent of all United States dioceses. Your gift next weekend is an act of solidarity with your struggling brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you! Thanks to everyone who made our celebration of the sacrament of Confirmation such a great event last Sunday. Sixty six of our young people received the sacrament of Confirmation and are now ready to give active witness to the Lord as his disciples in the world. The group gave over 3,900 hours of service in preparation for the sacrament. They were well prepared thanks to Mr. Banull and his dedicated catechists. It was a great day for all involved. Thanks again! Have a wonderful week! Page 4 Picnic 2015 June 4-5-6 WE ARE THE PEOPLE OF GOD. WE STRIVE TO BE THE FACE OF GOD FOR OTHERS IN OUR PARISH AND THE PEOPLE WE MEET DAILY IN OUR COMMUNITY. On that day at 8:30 AM the picnic truck with all of our supplies and stands will be delivered and unloaded ! The more helpers we have the better! You can not underestimate what an hour of your time would contribute to our efforts to begin setting up for the Picnic. On April 22nd at 1:00 P.M. we are going to stuff mailings to be sent to all of our parishioners with information on the Picnic as well Raffle Ticket request forms. If anyone would like to volunteer for this project, we will order a lunch for you and have it ready following the 12:10 Mass. Please let me know if you think you can make it. We have made a change to our Picnic Raffle this year as illustrated in the form below. The cost of a ticket is now only $50.00 and we will be selling an unlimited amount ! From the Desk of Bill Drazdowski: April 26: Youth Group Meeting 6:00PM April 27: Service Coordinating Team Meeting - 7:00 PM April 30: Community Coordinating Team Meeting - 7:00 PM Carpooling to and from Church on the weekends: A new program we are initiating at Divine Mercy is to promote carpooling among our Parishioners to get people, who otherwise would not be able to attend our church because of lack of May 18: transportation, to and from our facility on weekends and for special masses. The Service CoorService Coordinating Team dinating team and I will be in charge of this endeavor and hope it can be an ongoing service to Meeting - 7:00 PM our Parishioners for years to come. Please contact me at the Parish Office if you are in need of May 20: transportation on a regular basis or if you are willing to transport Parishioners to and from our Community Coordinating services. It is our goal to identify reliable Parishioners in each section of our community to Team Meeting - 7:00 PM pick up one or two others who are without transportation. We understand that many people May 30: have special needs that make it difficult for them to be transported without the assistance of Picnic Truck Set-up - 8:30 AM trained professionals, and we will do our best to find ways to find safe accommodations for you as well. Cemetery update: Believe it or not Spring has actually arrived, and with it I want to update everyone on several things with our cemeteries. For those families that have had interments throughout the fall and winter, we will be leveling these graves and replanting grass over the course of April as the weather permits. Our goal is to always have our grounds in their very best condition no later than Memorial Day. In order to help us with this process this year, we kindly ask you not to overflow our garbage cans with unneeded waste such as excess dirt from old flowers or personal debris. Also, this year on May 10th we will have a special envelope in your collection packet specifically for cemetery maintenance. Please give to this cause as it allows us to maintain our equipment and do beautification projects to our grounds each summer. Thank you for your continued support.
