TODAY’S INSPIRATION
Grace—unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the
salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.
Grace—getting what you don't deserve / unmerited favor
Mercy—not getting what you do deserve / withheld
punishment
MATTHEW 6:19-20
Treasures in Heaven
19Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth,
where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in
and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in
heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where
thieves do not break in or steal.

Then I will pour out my spirit on all flesh,
thus says the Lord.
Send down the fire of your justice!
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Send down the rain of your love!
Your old shall dream dreams,
and your young shall see visions.
Send down your Spirit, breathe life in your people!
In those days, I will pour out my spirit.
And we shall be people of God.
DPC COFFEE SHOP MINISTRY will meet Wednesday, May
27th at 12:00noon.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION (RESPONSIVELY)
Almighty God, you poured out your Spirit upon
gathered disciples creating bold tongues,
open ears, and a new community of faith.
We confess that we hold back the force
of your Spirit among us.
We do not listen for your word of grace, speak
the good news of your love, or live as a people
made one in Christ.
Have mercy on us, O God. Transform our timid
lives by the power of your Spirit and fill us with
a flaming desire to be your faithful people, doing
your will for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
THE APOSTLES’ CREED (UNISON)
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Maker of heaven
and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who
was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell. The third day He arose again
from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on
the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he
shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the
Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of
saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting. Amen.
