Special guest speaker Dr Rodney Syme on “Dying with Dignity: Recent developments in Australia and overseas”.
Dr Rodney Syme joined VESV, now Dying with Dignity
Victoria, in 1991. He served 12 years as President. In
2008, he published A Good Death, which describes
some of his experiences with terminally ill and suffering
people. Dr Syme, now Vice-President of DWDV, continues to run workshops on “End-of-life Choices”.
Last year, Dr Syme made a public admission that in
2005 he had provided a terminally ill cancer patient with
Nembutal that enabled him to end his life. 98 doctors
responded with a letter of support for Dr Syme, who has
still not been charged in relation to this matter.
Please come along and invite your friends and family too.
The venue is wheelchair accessible with a dedicated accessible toilet.
