EXECUTIVE
SUMMARY
Martin Luther King Jr once said that: “Life’s
most important question is- what are you doing
for others?” Indeed, this type of thinking and
questioning occurs only in the minds of
leaders- people who have decided to be
contributors and problem solvers. It is this sort
of thinking that is prevalent in H.O.P.E! As we
entered 2015, we started by asking ourselves
questions such as: how can we do all we have
been doing better? How can we engage more
volunteers in a better way? How can we engage
our partners more in solving the problems of
Africa? How can we reach more teenagers with
the message of true leadership and aid the
development of a positive, entrepreneurial
mind-set. It is such a thinking, coupled with
rigorous research and planning that informed
our plan for 2015. The purpose of this
document is to give partners an overview of
the things we intend to do this year.
Intentionally, the document does not contain
all the answers, rather we hope it will trigger
questions and provide a platform for further
discussions and engagement. We look forward
to advancing society together with you this
year! We sincerely appreciate your partnership,
even as we look forward to taking our
relationship to another level.
Femi Taiwo,
Executive Director, H.O.P.E.

SUMMER LEADERSHIP CAMP 2015
Our needs assessment
campaign across several High
Schools (both public and
private establishments)
revealed a lot of inadequacy in
awareness and understanding
of what true leadership is
among teenagers.
HOPE is set to address the
leadership issue by creating
a conducive environment
where learning and
networking can be
experienced. The camp
would focus on the CITY
curriculum areas (PLANE) as
well as other learning and
developmental methods.
VISION
To raise a new
generation of
leaders with a
proper
understanding of
what leadership is
all about.

SUMMER LEADERSHIP SCHOOL 2015
The CITY summer leadership school is an
expression of the leadership camp, only
with a slightly different model. While the
camp is fully residential for a number of
days, the summer school will be nonresidential, it will operate a day school
system but still have all the components
of the leadership camp. It will help us in
reaching out to more teenagers this
year.
We believe that this new model (summer school) in addition
to the old (summer camp) would engage our partners and
volunteers more, even as we enlist more young Nigerians to
become change agents in every society or fields of life.
