The labour market is complex and volatile, and students need your help to navigate these complexities and make good decisions about their career paths. From the employer side, employers are competing for the best graduates, so how do you position your graduates for employment success? A successful Employer Relations unit will work proactively with employers and other external organisations to provide opportunities and resources for work experience and graduate employment. How do you set up and run a successful External Relations unit, how do you make productive and successful relationships with employers, and filter those you need from the range available, what roles do you need, what services should you offer, what are your IT needs, and how do you set charges to employers? If these are some of the questions you are tackling at the moment, this workshop will be of benefit to you. Sue Bennett, Director of Student Careers and Skills, University of Warwick will talk about how they set up an External Relations Unit, and how its services have evolved. She will also encourage you to think about what you need to do next. 13:00 – 14:00 Lunch break
