Welcome to Elms Road Children’s Centre
A Children’s Centre is a place where parents and carers of children
under 5 can:

Meet new people and enjoy play sessions with your child

Relax and have fun

Get support from the Health Visitor and Midwife

Find out about a whole range of support services for parents
and carers

Get information or advice on children’s learning and
behaviour

Get information about training, returning to work and child
care options.
At this centre we offer a wide range of activities, from weekly stay
and play sessions to a drop in session with a midwife and health visitor.
We want the Children’s Centre to provide what local people want so
please let us know what you would like to see at Elms Road Children’s
Centre.
Parents Forum
A group that meets 4-6 times a year to help lead the services
that the Children’s Centre offers – all welcome. Please see staff
if you are interested in joining the group
Speech & Language Support
A speech & language therapist works from the centre.
Drop in sessions available monthly.
CAB appointments. Free 40 minute appointments.
On Wednesday morning you can get help and advice with debt, finance,
separation & housing. For families with young children.
Story Sack Library
Come and borrow a sack with a story book and play items to help your
child enjoy the story. Available to borrow at Stay & Play Sessions.
Parents Library
A range of books are available to borrow to help you with feeding,
sleeping, behaviour and other parenting issues.
Sessions for Registered Childminders and other paid carers
An evening session to give childminders a chance to network.
Midwife Session
A Midwife supports you with post-natal and feeding advice.
Family Health Drop in
A health visitor is on hand to support you with any health issues –
confidential room available.
Saturday Dad’s Session
A drop-in specifically for dads and male carers. Meet other dads with
young children. – Snacks available.
Outdoor School Session – Saturdays
An opportunity to try outdoor activities with your children such as
scavenger hunts, pond dipping. Sessions only run in the Summer.
Voluntary contribution of £2 per family.
Stay & Play
This is a session for parents and carers to come and enjoy inside and
outside play. We offer healthy snacks and singing in the session.
Voluntary contribution of £1 per family for session.
Additional 50 pence for hot drinks.
