Car Order Information
Thank you for choosing to buy your Audi from your North East Audi
Centre. As one of Britain’s largest Audi dealers we pride ourselves on
offering the best service to you at all times. Please read the enclosed
information carefully, as it will help you to understand the
communication process that leads up to the delivery of your new Audi
or Approved Used Audi.
Since we are governed by the Audi Factory system we cannot promise
an exact delivery date at the outset of your order. However, as we go
through the order and build process we will be able to establish that
date for you.

We will keep you informed of the progress of your order using the
following communication system, which can be forwarded to you by
e-mail or post.

Factory order
When you order a car directly from the factory it usually takes ten to twelve
weeks for the car to be delivered to us. Certain products that currently have
longer lead times may take slightly longer to be delivered to us. Please refer to
your Account Manager if you have any questions regarding this.
Production confirmation
This tells you when your car has been confirmed for production. It should
generally be sent to you 3 weeks before your car is actually built. It is at this
point that we will be able to provide a fairly accurate date of delivery of your
vehicle.
On ship
This means your car is currently being shipped to the UK and is now generally
only 7 to 10 days away from arrival at our Vehicle Preparation Centre.
Arrival
Your car has arrived at our Vehicle Preparation Centre. This communication
helps set a firm date for you to collect your car; this is generally 3 to 4 working
days after arrival to allow time for Pre-Delivery Inspection and preparatory
work. If you have not already done so you may wish to consider the addition of
Audi Accessories as these can still be fitted at this stage.
Note
New car orders that can be fulfilled from national stocks in UK storage areas
will usually arrive at our Vehicle Preparation Centre within 4 to 6 working days
of order.
Dealer transfer car delivery will be individually agreed and depend on how
quickly we can arrange to collect the car from the other dealer. For cars already
en route, the above communication process will start at the relevant stage in
the delivery process.

Delivery of your new car
When a date and time have been set for the handover of your car, we
recommend that you allow approximately one hour so that your dedicated
Audi Account Manager can carry out the following to ensure you are
completely satisfied with the vehicle:
• Full explanation of controls
• Invite you to inspect and to test drive the vehicle
• Introduce you to the Service Department
• Fully explain service schedule of the vehicle
• Complete all relevant paperwork
Accessories
Due to the complex nature of the electronics fitted by Audi, we will only fit
accessories that are Audi UK or Audi Centre approved.
Our technicians are trained to the highest standard and provide expert
workmanship. That means any accessories fitted by them prior to delivery of
the vehicle are covered by a full 3 year / 60,000 mile Audi warranty.
Note
We do not take responsibility for the fitting of non-approved accessories to
your car by non-Audi trained personnel. Any accessories fitted in such a
manner may invalidate part or all of your warranty.
Protection

East Audi Centre take seriously. This is the reason why there is a range of
products available to ensure that this investment has the ultimate protection.
Autoglym
An advanced pre-delivery protective treatment system, developed to keep
paintwork, glass, upholstery and carpets in top condition for years to come.
Tracker
A covert electronic vehicle homing device which, should the vehicle be stolen,
emits a silent signal which can be tracked by all of the UK’s 52 police forces.
Having Tracker fitted to your vehicle may entitle you to a discount on your
insurance.

Insurance cover notes
All cars purchased must leave our premises with a Road Fund Licence. We
therefore need an original cover note from your insurance company. The note
must either state that you have comprehensive insurance for a motor vehicle
or have the correct registration of your new vehicle recorded on it. The start
date of the insurance should be no later than the proposed delivery date and
the cover note should be in our hands no later than 48 hours prior to delivery.
For new cars being registered for the first time in the UK, the Vehicle Licensing
Office requires us to fill in a VRC form. This confirms a) to whom the car is
being registered: b) that we have seen an original insurance document; c) that
the form has been signed by the customer. We will ask you to sign this prior to
delivery.
Retention/Cherished registration transfers
Due to the inconsistent service we receive from our Local Vehicle Licensing
Office (VRO) we cannot take the responsibility for delays in cherished
registration transfers. We will process the paperwork for you but you must
allow at least 10 days for the VRO to complete the transaction.
Note
Due to restrictions on the level of service provided by the Vehicle Licensing
Office it may not be possible to process cherished transfers towards month
ends. You will appreciate this situation is completely out of our control.
Consequently, should a cherished transfer not be completed by a month end
we must ask you to take delivery of your new car on a normal registration and
accept the transfer of your cherished number at a later date.
