HOMESPUN
Shop Independent, over a dozen local artists and creators set up shop at The Other Side Café in North Park
the fist Sunday of every month. Check out the creations Sunday, December 4, from 12:00 – 4:00 pm. There will
be a street side fashion show at 2:30 and a silent auction/raffle from 12-2 to benefit Dunn-Razo Dance
Company a local non profit arts organization. You don’t want to miss the handmade jewelry, clothing, bags,

3rd Thursday on Cedros - Art Trees and The Ordover Project Presents....
The Ordover Project Presents 15 local photography and glass artist from December 3 through
January 15. The opening reception is on December 3.
Head out to Solana Beach on Thursday, December 15 at 5:30 pm to visit the galleries that will be open late on
Cedros Avenue.

This month I decided to highlight the organizations that put together regularly scheduled events to make
enjoying art fun and relaxing…not to mention some great holiday gift ideas….
Kettner Nights
Check out the last Kettner Night this year on Friday, November 11 from 6-9 pm. Stroll down Kettner Boulevard
in Little Italy and pop into the numerous galleries and open studios that line the street. Check out

Julian Open Studios This annual event is an opportunity to see the private studios of 12 artists in Julian. This
self-guided tour occurs on Saturday and Sunday November 12-13 from 10 am- 4 pm. The tour itself is free,

3rd Thursday on Cedros
Galleries down historic Cedros Avenue in Solana Beach will host 3 rd Thursday on Cedros November 17,
2005. Over 12 galleries will be open late and providing music and refreshments to give viewers a relaxing
environment to do some gallery crawling.
Talmadge Art Show
The San Diego Women’s Club hosts the works of regional artists and crafts people at their location in Hillcrest.

San Diego Natural History Museum Wildlife Art Exhibit

Digital Underwater Wed. Sept 7
Ever want to learn to take great pictures underwater? Come and join experts Al Bruton and Lee Peterson
Wednesday, September 7, at ASMP-SD for the chance to discover how. Al and Lee will cover a variety of
topics including equipment, safety and a slide show of beautiful images set to music. Registration: Starts
at 6:30 PM; Meeting begins at 7:00 PM. ASMP members $5 with reservations, $10 non-members with

Return of King Tut – Bus Tour Tuesday Sept 27
We know you want to see the King Tut exhibit at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, but just don’t feel like
doing the drive. Here is the perfect solution…take the bus! Gallery East (East County Art Association) is
sponsoring a bus tour on Tuesday September 27. The cost is $50.00 per person this includes bus trip,
admission ticket and treats. You are responsible for your lunch. The bus will leave El Cajon at 9:00am & return
between 6:00 and 6:30pm. Seating is limited so call for reservations and additional information ASAP. Contact

Drawing and Painting Studios - Ongoing
There are several locations in San Diego that have ongoing open workshop time for those of use who want to
get off our rumps and practice. These studios are open to all skill levels. Bring your own supplies and make
sure they are odorless.
The Ubiquitous Bee Studio presents the Figure Workshop for drawing or painting from a figure model.

Summer Camp
Want to see your kids get out of the house, learn something new, and be creative all at the same time? The
Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park is hosting both photography and film making classes throughout

Ofest Sizzling Summer Beach Break Need plans this 4th Of July weekend? Head to Ofest where you will find
a lil’ something for everyone. Oceanside will have everything from a Carnival to Concerts and Parades. While
there make sure and see the neon exhibition at the Oceanside Museum of Art called Illuminations which
continues until Aug 21.
Student Art Sale The Arts College International is having a student art sale July 8th (6-9 pm) and 9th (11-4).
Come take a look at the student work and bring home that unique piece you’ve been looking for. While you are

July a month of Ladies Nights! March may be Women’s History Month, but July is all about women in Art.
