The field for the Championship will be limited to 180 players. If entries exceed the number of available places in the event, a ballot will be undertaken with players on the highest handicaps subject to elimination. Exemptions – Players ranked in the top 20 of the current Australian Men’s Senior Rankings and in the top 10 of each respective state scratch senior rankings are exempt from the ballot. A seeded draw will be conducted after the first two rounds. The player with the lowest stroke score after 54 holes shall be The National Senior Masters Champion. The player with the lowest nett score after 54 holes shall be The National Senior Masters Handicap Champion. In the event of a tie for first place in the gross event after 54 holes, the winner will be determined by a sudden-death play-off if time permits, otherwise a count-back will be utilised. Ties for all other positions shall be decided by count-back as recommended by Golf Australia. ELIGIBILITY Eligible players are male amateurs who have reached their 55th birthday by the Tuesday 14 April 2015 and whose Golf Australia Handicap at the time of entry does not exceed 20.0 strokes in accordance with the Australian Handicapping System. Entries will be restricted to amateurs, who are members of clubs affiliated with Golf Victoria, or of golf clubs registered with such State or Overseas Associations as are affiliated with or recognised by this Association, or of clubs affiliated with the Victorian Golf League and Registered Golfers. A male player is required to play from their current GA Handicap with the exception that no player shall play from a Daily Handicap greater than 24 strokes. Exception: Players subject to the provisions of Condition 2.4. In accordance with Section 17 of the GA Handicap System, the leading 30 players from the 2014 Paul Lulofs Trophy and any player within the leading 30 players of the 2015 Paul Lulofs Trophy as at March 31; June 30 and/or September 30 will be allocated a Special Competition GA Handicap. Each player’s Special Competition GA Handicap will be calculated on the basis of scores returned in Victorian Senior Order of Merit events only, in accordance with the regular calculation provisions of the GA Handicap System and updated following each Victorian Senior Order of Merit event. For each 2015 Victorian Senior Order of Merit event, players subject to this condition are required to play from the lower of either their Special Competition GA Handicap or their current GA Handicap with the exception that no player shall play from a Daily Handicap greater than 24 strokes. 3. 3.1 3.2 3.3 3.4 ENTRIES The entry fee is $215.00 (inc. GST and $2 charity donation). Entry fee must be paid at the time of entry and includes lunch and golf cart on all three rounds, and all trophies. Golf Victoria shall have the right to refuse the entry of any person without being required to give any reason for such refusal. Entries shall only be made on the official entry form or online at www.golfvic.org.au. The draw for the competition will be sent to players and available at www.golfvic.org.au approximately one week before the event. 4. TROPHIES Trophies will be awarded for: Order of Merit Events: 54-Hole Gross – National Senior Masters Champion (Green Jacket), Runner-Up and Third Place 54-Hole Nett – National Senior Masters Handicap Champion and Runner-Up and Third Place Other: Daily Gross (Rd 1, 2 & 3)- Winner & Runner-Up Daily Nett (Rd 1, 2 & 3)- Winner & Runner-Up 54-hole ball run-down based upon nett scores No player may win a trophy in both the stroke and nett sections. Daily trophies for the first two rounds will be awarded and presented at the Wednesday evening dinner at the Club. 5. CHAMPIONSHIP COMMITTEE The Committee shall consist of Golf Victoria representatives and the Match Committee of the Club upon whose course the rounds are being played. In the absence of a full Championship Committee, such members thereof, as may be present at the time, may give a decision so given shall be deemed to be a decision of the full Championship Committee. In the event of bad weather, or for any other reason, the Championship Committee may shorten the competition, appoint another day or days for completion of, or may transfer play to another course. Protests must be made to the Championship Committee not later than 10 minutes after the conclusion of each round. 6. REFUND POLICY Any entrant may withdraw and have their entry fee refunded providing notification is received within three working days prior to the commencement of the event. Under no circumstances will entry fees be refunded after this date unless players can provide Golf Victoria supporting documents regarding their withdrawal from the event (i.e. Medical Certificate). 7. MOTORISED TRANSPORT Competitors are required to ride in or on a motorised vehicle during all rounds of the Championship. The hire or provision of such transport is in accordance with the terms and conditions of the golf cart policy of The National Golf Club. NOTE: Carts are on a shared basis BETWEEN PLAYERS ONLY. 8.
