SPECIAL THEMATIC ISSUE ON ENVIRONMENTAL
DIMENSION OF ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANCE
Editors: Kornelia Smalla, Jim Tiedje, Ed Topp and Pascal Simonet
FEMS Microbiology Ecology invites submissions for a special thematic issue on
the environmental dimension of antibiotic resistance to coincide with the Third
International Symposium on Environmental Dimension of Antibiotic Resistance
Conference which will be held May 17-21, 2015 in Wernigerode, Germany.
The issue will focus on effects of anthropogenic use of antibiotics on the
microbiomes in various ecosystems and the implications for human health.
Topics of interest include: evolution of antibiotic resistance, fate and effects of
antibiotics in the ecosystem, dissemination of antibiotics and antibiotic resistance
genes, links between the hospital and the environment, and mitigation strategies.
All submitted papers should be complete and adequately supported by
original experimental work leading to significant advances; they should not
be preliminary versions of communications to be published elsewhere.
Prospective authors for MiniReviews/Perspective/Opinion articles should contact
the Editors in advance. All manuscripts will undergo regular review by
members of the Editorial Board and other appropriate experts.
