FRENCH DRAMA DIVISION Carole O’Brien Carole’s artistic background is fairly eclectic; a Fine arts honours degree in photography, followed by independent studies in creative writing, theatre and philosophy, came together in 1992 when she made her first film. She has since authored many award winning short films, both dramatic and experimental. Carole is also a recipient of the NSI Drama Prize, a graduate of the Canadian Film Centre’s Director Residence Programme and of Women in the Director’s chair - programs geared to deepening the many skills film directors must have: the ability to work with actors, to animate a script and to create memorable images. Carole began her exploration of film as a medium at the Winnipeg Film Group, an organization that gave her many opportunities to share her knowledge as artist-in-residence and commissioned filmmaker. Carole is fluent in both French and English, and she recently completed a Masters degree in City Planning (MCP) (community planning), studies that have taught her how to see the world with different eyes. 1 FRENCH DRAMA DIVISION Tuesday, April 7, 2015, Morning Session FFHS Townshend Theatre Adjudicator: Carole O’Brien NOTE: CONTESTANTS ARE REQUESTED TO ARRIVE 10 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE START OF THE SESSION 9:00 a.m. CLASS F901A C C CLASS F901B C C C C Solo Poetry, Grades Nine, Ten, Eleven, and Twelve (Core French) 1.
