THE FLEMINGTON-RARITAN PARKS & RECREATION COMMITTEE IS
PLEASED TO PRESENT ITS 38th ANNUAL SUMMER INTERSESSION
PROGRAM FOR 2015.
In order to properly plan for our program, the registration deadline is May 18,
2015. After that date, we can accommodate students only if space is available.
This year there will be a LIMIT OF 250 CAMPERS AT EACH SITE, so please
register early. The fee schedule for 2015 is as follows:

 Bring your child to the multipurpose room of your selected site by 8:45
a.m. on Wednesday, July 1st. Please provide a snack and a drink.
 Pick up times are 12 Noon for Fun at Four and for the AM Program. 5
p.m. for the PM Program. Please be prompt.
 You MUST park and get out of your car for pickup and drop off. We
cannot permit children to cross into the parking lots unescorted.
 For your child’s safety, please have them wear sneakers, rather than
shower shoes or sandals. The wearing of inadequate footwear will
exclude your child from running activities.
 Please discourage your child from bringing expensive personal items to
the program. We will not be responsible if these items are lost, stolen, or
damaged.

BARLEY SHEAF, DESMARES, and ROBERT HUNTER,
SCHOOLS
THREE sites are available, each supervised by an experienced teacher/adult.
Counselors are college and high school students, many who have worked with the
program in previous years, or who are studying childhood education.
Students are assigned to small groups (by grade completed during the 20142015 school year) with one counselor who has primary responsibility for his/her
group. The grades are: Pre K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th only. By
design, the program is non-sequential. If a child does not attend for a few days,
she/he will be able to participate upon returning. Most of the activities are
completed within one day.
The Program includes water activities, large group games, board games, arts and
crafts, Theme Days, and more. Most activities are held outside, but the gym and
cafeteria will be utilized as well. The program operates RAIN or SHINE!

BARLEY SHEAF, DESMARES, ROBERT HUNTER SCHOOLS
The afternoon program includes the following: time for lunch (each child should
bring his/her own lunch and drink; an afternoon snack and drink will be
provided), quality childcare, some movies, reading club, writing time, and more.
Each child is to bring a book for our daily-required reading time (nonreaders will
be read to).
FUN AT FOUR
WEDNESDAY, JULY 1-FRIDAY, JULY 31, 2015

25 students maximum – students must be four (4) years old by June 28, 2015.
Cost: $375 in District Only
This is a quality preschool summer program taught by a certified early childhood
elementary teacher. Songs, poetry, stories, children’s creative art, and free play
will be incorporated each day. Special activities will include drama, puppetry,
hands-on science, nature, and gardening. FUN AT FOUR children will be
physically separated from other children unless joint activities are planned.
Instructor: Ms. Lisa Hutchinson, a 2nd Grade Teacher at Copper Hill, assisted by
counselors and junior counselors.
PM ACADEMIC
AND AUGUST AT THE
PARK PROGRAMS
FOR 2015
This year we will again be offering a pm program for academics as well as an
August program which will be held at Minebrook Park
The academic programs will be offered to all students for an additional fee of $50
for each program. If you area pm camper, the charge will be $30 per program.
Programs will be offered in science, math, reading and writing. These programs
will be taught by qualified college students. Details of these programs are
currently being configured but you will be notified of them when summer
intersession starts. Children who do not attend the summer intersession are also
invited to sign-up. Please monitor our website as we will post information as
soon as it is available.
Based on the success of August in the Park, we will offer this program again from
August 3rd through August 7th and August 10th through August 14th from 8 a.m.
until 2 p.m. at Minebrook Park. This program will be very similar to our Summer
Intersession Program but will be run at Minebrook Park. More details on this
program will be posted on our website and handed out during our Summer
Intersession program. The cost of this program will be $150.00 per week.

Summer Intersession Program, which is in session from July 1 to July 31, 2015.

Recreation and its employees, agents, and Committee persons from any and

The administrative policy of The Flemington-Raritan Parks and

participant’s parent/guardian in order for staff to administer
prescribed medications for life threatening episodes. If you

Administrative Issues
Please note that friend requests will be honored only if possible after
registration forms have been submitted.
Fresh Produce & Drink Donation Tuesday
Every Tuesday each site will be collecting fresh produce and/or fruit
drinks for the Flemington Food Pantry. All you have to do to
contribute is drop your donation off at the entrance when you bring
your child at 9 AM. Reminders will be sent home weekly. The dates
are: July 7, 14, 21, and 28, 2015. Again, THANK YOU!
Recycle Toys, Games, Equipment
Please donate useable games and outside play equipment. These gifts
continue to keep our fees reasonable. Please email us at
flemingtonparks@gmail.com to arrange delivery.
Share Your Time
Share an activity, hobby, interesting trip, or read a book (the
possibilities are endless) with a small group of children for 30
minutes. You can choose the date, location, time, and number of
children. Email us at flemingtonparks@gmail.com to make
arrangements. One day’s notice can be accommodated. Your time
and knowledge is valuable, and the kids really enjoy that you have
time for them.
Mission Statement
The programs conducted by the Flemington-Raritan Parks and
Recreation Committee will provide a fun, safe, and creative
atmosphere in which every participant may socialize and make
positive discoveries about themselves, those around them, and their
environment.
