Mission
The mission of the Fort Bragg Veterinary Center (VETCEN) is to provide comprehensive
veterinary care, support and training to Military Working Dogs, Federal Working Dogs and their
handlers for community security and rapid deployment. To provide food safety and defense
quality assurance for the Ft. Bragg community by conducting sanitary inspections of food
establishments and vendors that service Ft. Bragg. To prevent zoonotic (Transferrable from
animals to humans) disease outbreak by providing quality, affordable, routine, and preventative
healthcare to our military family pets, base facility pets and all visiting animal organizations.
Facility Policies

ALL animals must be on a leash or in a carrier.

It is the installation policy to have your pet registered with the VETCEN within ten (10) days
following arrival, purchase of a new pet, or change in ownership of an already registered
pet. Failure to do so will result in delays in making appointments. The VETCEN needs to be
notified as soon as possible if your pet is lost or passes away. For more information on animal
control policies for Fort Bragg, see XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg Regulation 40-5

All pets that reside on the installation and/or are seen at the VETCEN must be current on all
required vaccines, be microchipped, have an up-to-date heartworm test, be maintained on an
appropriate heartworm preventative, and have a fecal sample analyzed yearly in accordance
with XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg Regulation 40-5.

Children of all ages are permitted in the VETCEN when accompanied by a parent. Proper
supervision is required. If we feel your child is in a situation that is dangerous for them or an
animal, we may ask you to reschedule for a different time.

Please respect the time of staff members and other clients by arriving on time for your
appointment. Missed appointments (“No Shows”), same day cancellations, and arriving late
deny other individuals and their pets the opportunity to be seen.
a. If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please notify the VETCEV at 910396-9120 at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time. If you find you will be
unexpectedly late, please call to confirm that your pet can still be seen or if the appointment
needs to be rescheduled. Same day cancellations are treated as “No Shows”.
b. “No Show” Policy:
(1) The first missed appointment will result in a notation in your chart and a phone call to the
client.
(2) The second missed appointment will result in a notation in your chart, a phone call to the
client. Two or more missed appointments and/or same day cancellations within a twelve (12)
month period may result in suspension of your ability to schedule an appointment and require
you to be seen on a walk-in only basis.

The VETCEN is able to offer minor surgeries (e.g spays, neuters, mass removals) pending
other mission requirements. The Vet Facility is not equipped to handle: emergencies,
hospitalization, major surgeries that require hospitalization post-op, boarding, or grooming.
