Issue 188 FRODSHAM COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER July 2015 200 Club June Winners A Great Meeting On Wednesday 24th June we held the Annual General Meeting of the Community Association. This year’s meeting got underway in a much more interesting and entertaining fashion, with displays showing the enormous range of activities that take place here, and club members to exchange ideas and opinions. Huge thanks go to all the user groups who responded to our invitation to show what they have to offer our community. It was a good demonstration of the range of activities taking place within the Centre and created considerable mutual interest and discussion. The relaxed event was given a very professional musical accompaniment by Ken and Wendy Farran from the accordion group who, as a group, are shortly due to tour Germany. Free refreshments and a bar also helped to make the evening a much more relaxed affair. It was good to see a much better attendance this year and the interest shown was much appreciated by the FCA committee. Thanks to the following groups, U3A, Townfield Lane Allotments, Rotary, Ramblers, Guitar Club, Music and Arts Society, Overton Hill Probus, Frodsham and District Flower Club, and of course the Accordionists for making this the most entertaining AGM we've ever held. Ideas welcome for next year? At the Association's AGM on the 24th June, Graham Reeves stepped down from the position of Treasurer after seven years of carefully keeping an eye on the books and his time and effort has not gone un-noticed and has been greatly appreciated. There was a buzz of interest and activity as well as smiles all round before the annual meeting. Graham has agreed to stay on as Deputy Treasurer to support a new volunteer in the position and we are now actively seeking somebody to take over the post. Would you are interested or know somebody who might be? Please get in touch by contacting the office or email treasurer@frodcomm.org.uk The Giant Jumble Sale was a great success raising £850 for the Community Centre. Thank you to everyone who helped on the day or donated goods. Great News and Thank You for your support. LiveLounge15 has won the votes required for the Aviva Community Fund and, following completion of the due diligence, our funding has been approved.
