GENERAL INFORMATION: Faculty of Machine Technology prepares specialists in the field of
engineering and technology with the spirit of the forefather of technical education in Bulgaria. From the first
academic year in 1945/1946 up to now it is prepared thousands engineers, who found career as in the
industry in our country as in many other countries in all over the world. Faculty of Machine Technology is
always been a leading national centre in the field of scientific research and applied activities.
STRUCTURE : Faculty of Machine Technology included:
Department of MATERIALS SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
The department leads education courses on "Material Science and Technology for the students of FA, ЕE,
FPEPM, FEET, MT, ME, FM and FT. Department lecturer hold courses in the Faculty of German
Engineering Education and Industrial Management and in the Faculty of English Language Department of
Engineering.
The department has a scientific research laboratory of Electro physical technologies for heat treatment of
metals and research laboratory Mechanical testing of Metals.

Section of PRACTICAL EDUCATION
Faculty of Machine Technology included three scientific research laboratories:
● SIMULATION MODELING IN INDUSTRY
1
The laboratory provides education for students, trainees, graduates and PhD students in three faculties of
TU - MT, FТ и FЕET.
The laboratory activity is in the field of:
- e-learning and Internet technologies; discrete simulation (analysis of production systems,
- warehouses, traffic);
- E-Learning (graphics simulators of industrial methods)
● ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT
The general activities of the laboratory are:
• Development of programs for environmental sustainability;
• Determination the state of the environment with measurement and analysis of quality of ambient air,
water and soil;
• Providing consultancy and agency services in the field of ecology and conservation of natural
resources.
● C A D / C A M / C A E IN THE INDUSTRY
Twelve engineers with industrial experience work in the field of CAD / CAM / CAE technologies. The
laboratory provides training for students, trainees, graduates and PhD students from three faculties of TU FМ, МE и FЕET.
