Senior Transportation Program
Taxi Voucher Program
It gives me great pleasure to announce that May is Older
Americans’ Month! Isn’t it nice to be remembered?
Special recognition never gets ‘old’ (pardon my ‘golden’
pun). Some special dates to celebrate this month:
May 1: May Day
May 5: Cinco de Mayo
May 8: VE Day, WWII
May 10: Mother’s Day
May 14: Dance Like a Chicken Day (see note below)
May 16: Armed Forces Day
May 25: Memorial Day
I encourage you to support two SeniorServ events with
your attendance this month: the Cinco de Mayo Dance on
Tuesday, May 5th, and the Mother’s Day Celebration on
Friday, May 8th - both parties start at 10 a.m.
Please plan to attend our Senior Club Fiesta de Mayo
Happy Hour social on May 14. Don’t be surprised if I
wear a very fancy sombrero. ¡Olé! Is it coincidence that
the social will take place on ‘Dance like a Chicken Day?”
Of course not! The Chicken Dance is always a party
favorite - let’s hope the 5 Star Band will include it for fun.
We thank caring, compassionate Sunshine Chairperson
Ellie Honeycutt for her dedicated efforts, over many years
now, in sending out get well cards to ill members and
condolence messages to our families of loved ones.
Hope to see you soon,
~ Dennis Hittle, “Older American”
