OFFICIAL RULES 2015 The Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica “Bavisela”, associated with the Italian Athletics Federation - Federazione Italiana Atletica Leggera (FIDAL), organizes the 16th Green Europe Marathon on a distance of 42,195 (international road race) and the 20th Green Europe Half Marathon on a distance of km 21.097 (international road race). The races will be held on Sunday May 3 2015. The events are included in the international calendars: • AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) • FIDAL (Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera) PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR MARATHON AND HALFMARATHON The 16th Green Europe Marathon and the 20th Green Europe Half Marathon are valid as Trieste Provincial Championship for marathon and half marathon. REGISTRATION FEES 40 euros online until 27 April 35 euros at the Wind shop in Piazza Unità d’Italia until 27 April Limited number of bibs: 3thousand overall ASI Membership with Bavisela € 8 Name change € 6 Postponement to 2016 € 11 Excluding charges and commissions (€ 2) for online registration Excluding online transaction cost REGISTRATION METHODS Registration can be carried out: - on line following the instructions available on the website www.bavisela.it, with payment on-line with credit card or bank transfer. Registrations without registration fee, number of the FIDAL membership card or medical certificate for fitness in Athletics, or incomplete address or personal details will not be accepted. A copy of a valid medical certificate or the FIDAL membership card will be requested when collecting the running number. REGISTRATION FEE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING SERVICES The registration fee includes: - running number - rent of timing chip showing Real Time - insurance - medical assistance - refreshment and sponge service along the course - w.c. along the course - pre-race transport from Trieste (Piazza della Libertà) to the start area - personal clothes transport from the start to the finish - total road closure to traffic - “pacers” service - sweep up service - participation medal (for finishers only) - pasta party - refreshment in the finish area - massage service after the race - shower service at the “B. Bianchi” swimming pool with special shuttle buses - participation diploma available at www.tds-live.com REQUISITES FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE MARATHON • athletes under 20 years old: participation in the marathon is not allowed. • Italian or foreigner resident in Italy, age range 20 - 22 yrs: membership of a FIDAL (Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera) club. The membership must be valid for 2015. • Italian or foreigner, resident in Italy, age 23 and over: - membership of a FIDAL (Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera) club; - membership of an EPS (Ente di Promozione Sportiva) that has an agreement with FIDAL. The membership must be valid for 2015 and in case of an EPS, it has to be for Athletics. Moreover, in case of EPS membership, the original membership card must be shown upon collection of the running number (or declaration of membership with stamp and signature of the President of the club). • Foreigner, resident abroad, age 20 and over: - membership of an Athletics federation associated with IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations). The membership must be valid for 2015; - health form with stamp and signature of your doctor in compliance with the laws in force in your country. In this case an additional fee will have to be paid to cover administration procedures to check the medical certificate and buy compulsory insurance since you are not covered by the insurance of the Athletics Federation in your country (8€). • Italian, resident abroad, age range 20 - 22 yrs: - membership of a FIDAL (Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera) club; - membership of a club associated with the Athletics Federation in the country you live in. The membership must be valid for 2015. • Italian, resident abroad, age 23 and over: - membership of a FIDAL (Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera) club; - membership of an EPS (Ente di Promozione Sportiva) that has an agreement with FIDAL. The membership must be valid for 2015 and in case of an EPS, it has to be for Athletics. The membership must be valid for 2015. • Italian or foreigner, resident in Italy, age 23 and over: - membership of a FIDAL (Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera) club; - membership of an EPS (Ente di Promozione Sportiva) that has an agreement with FIDAL. The membership must be valid for 2015 and in case of an EPS, it has to be for Athletics. List of Sport promotion clubs operating within FIDAL: ACLI – ACSI – AICS – ASC – ASI – CNS LIBERTAS – CSAIN – CSEN – CSI – ENDAS – MSP ITALIA – OPES – PGS – UISP REGISTRATION FEE REFUND No refunds will be offered under any circumstances. The registration fee is nonrefundable, the athlete who cannot take part in the event can transfer the registration to another person upon request to be submitted via fax or e-mail by 30 April at 12.00 and paying an extra amount of 6 € for administrative charges. The athlete replacing the original entrant shall provide all personal details and information regarding membership and medical certificate. The athlete who cannot take part in the race can transfer the registration fee to the Green Europe Marathon 2016 upon written request via fax or e-mail by 30 April at 12.00 and paying an extra amount of 11€ for administrative charges. Participation cannot be postponed another year and if the athlete does not participate in the Green Europe Marathon 2016 he/she will lose the entire fee paid. REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION Athletes can check their registration on the website www.bavisela.it. The letter confirming an athlete’s registration containing the running number can be downloaded on line one month before the race. The confirmation letter will be sent from Timing Data Service Srl via e-mail in case the email is not available, the athlete can download the confirmation letter from the TDS site. The letter will contain the running number and will be considered as a valid document for the collection of the bib. The athletes who, for any reason, do not receive the letter, will be able to get it from the desk set up in the bib collection area. REGISTRATION CLOSURE Registration will close at 19.00 on 02/05/2015 if the maximum limit number is not reached before. The L’A.S.D. Bavisela reserves the right to close registration or not accept other entries and its decision shall be final. RUNNING NUMBER COLLECTION Running numbers can be personally collected on Friday 1 May (from 10:00 to 19:00) and on Saturday 2 May 2015 (from 10:00 to 19:00) at the CariFvg Expo Marathon. If the bib cannot be collected personally, you may appoint someone else to collect it on your behalf. The person appointed will have to present a written authorization together with the athlete’s confirmation letter. In order to cut down queuing and waiting time, we kindly ask to collect a minimum number of bibs per single person. Upon collection, athletes must show their FIDAL membership card (or other Federation or Club) in original or hand in a copy of the medical certificate for fitness in athletics for E.P.S. members. Without these documents the organization shall not hand out the running number. The bib must not be altered. Athletes who reduce, cut out and/or cover the logos printed on the bib shall not receive the prize won, even in case of prize money. Important notice: On Sunday 3 May athletes will be able to collect their bibs at the starting areas with an extra charge of 5€. Athletes may have the bib delivered by post if registration is completed by 18 April with a 25 € surcharge. IMPORTANT: All registration procedures, including daily membership cards, must be done in advance! RACE PACK DELIVERY (WITH BIB AND CHIP) Entrants resident in Italy (excluding those living in the Province of TRIESTE), can ask to have their race pack containing bib and chip delivered at their homes via express courier by 18 April 2015 and up to a maximum of 5 bibs at the cost of 25 €. This will enable the participation in the event without any other formality. The delivery will be possible only for athletes regularly registered and with all the required documents in order (FIDAL 2015 membership or medical certificate valid on 3 May 2015). The delivery will be carried out around 15 days before the event. The official T-shirt of the event can be collected at the end of the race. SHUTTLE TO THE START There is a free shuttle bus service reserved for competitors to reach the start area. Reaching the start area with one’s car will be difficult due to road closures. The buses will leave from Piazza Libertà - Trieste at the following times: 6.30 - 7.00 for participants in the Green Europe Marathon; 7.30 - 8.15 for participants in the Green Europe Half marathon. Access is reserved for athletes bearing their running number. PERSONAL BELONGINGS A free transport service for athletes’ personal belongings will be arranged from the start area to the finish area in Trieste (Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia). The athletes will place their bags inside the vehicles used for this service near the start area. The bags will have to bear the RUNNING NUMBER and must only contain the clothes needed to change after the race. For logistical reasons the bags must be dropped within HALF AN HOUR BEFORE THE START OF THE RACE. The organization is not liable for the content of the bags or losses, therefore no reimbursement will be made. START The start of the 16th Green Europe Marathon is at 08:30. The start of the 20th Green Europe Half marathon is at 09:50. Access to the start area is allowed half an hour before the start times. Competitors arriving later will start at the back. TIMING Timing and rankings with the electronic chip are carried out by Timing Data Service. The chip will be handed out with the bib. The use of personal chips is not allowed. Time cheks will be placed along the course in order to avoid short cuts. Athletes who forget to wear the chip will not be timed and will not be included in the rankings. SIGNALS ALONG THE COURSE The overall race kilometres will be marked with special signals on the side of the road. TIME LIMIT The time limit to end the marathon is 6hrs, with the following time gates: - km 24 by 12.00 km 35 by 13.30 The time limit to end the half marathon is 4h30 After these times the organization will no longer be able to guarantee race course closure to traffic. DRINK STATIONS AND SPONGE STOPS As to IAAF/FIDAL rules, drink stations will be located at the finish area and every 5km along the course. Each athlete will receive 2 personal sponges that he/she will carry during the race and dip them in the special containers with running water located at a distance of 5km sarting from 7.5km. These stations will not have sponges. More sponges will be available at the start. The technical choice of the sponge system, common to other European marathons, is done for environmental protection reasons only. Athletes will be taken to the finish area in Trieste, race permitting. FIRST AID SERVICE A proper first aid service will be set up and managed by the organization in collaboration with local health services. First aid stations will be set up along the course, as well as ambulances and bikes following the race. PACEMAKERS Several groups of pacers in charge of running the marathon at a constant pace and reaching the finish line at a set time will help participants to clinch the time result desired. Pacemakers will carry special balloons and will end the marathon in: 3h00’, 3h15’, 3h30’, 3h45’, 4h00’, 4h15’, 4h30’, 5h00’ and the half marathon in: 1h30’, 1h45’, 2h00’ SHOWER SERVICE The showers will be available at the “B.Bianchi” swimming pool from 11.00 to 15.15 with special shuttle service. PRIZEGIVING AND JACKPOT The first three men and three women in both the Marathon and Half marathon will receive prizes right after the race. LIABILITY Upon signing the registration form, either on paper or digital (e-mail or online form), the entrant declares to know, accept and follow the general rules. The athlete recognizes the potential danger and risks related to the participation in the event, which in any case requires fitness and a good level of training, he/she declares to have. The athlete assumes all risks linked with his/her participation and or presence, among which, but not only: falls, damage/injury caused by contact with other participants, by adverse weather conditions, by vehicles and by road surface conditions. By entering the race, the athlete assumes full responsibility for any kind of injury and/or accident which may occur participating in or only being present at the event, including those that may happen during transfer from and to the event. The athlete relieves ASD Bavisela, of any responsibility whatsoever, for circumstances and facts linked to the participation in the event or in any way connected to the event, waiving any claim or legal action against the Association and/or its members and/or collaborators and any other who works for the event. The athlete is aware and acknowledges that the registration fee is non-refundable, even if he/she does not participate or any other reason whatsoever. The athlete authorizes filming and photographing as provided by art.96 e 97 l. 633/1941, the publication and dissemination of images that portray him/her on both the official web site of Bavisela and also on any other media, and authorizes Bavisela to store videos and photos in its archives as well as in those of the organization’s official photographers. In accordance with Italian law n.196 dd.30.06.2003, all personal details collected including those related to the photo portrait will be used for the event purposes only, for promotion and for the preparation of the participants list, the rankings, the historical archive, and for provision of services contained in the rules as well as for the information and advertising material on behalf of Bavisela and its partners. FINAL REMARKS L’A.S.D. Bavisela reserves the right to change these rules in any moment in order to guarantee a better organization of the race. Changes in the services, places and times will be announced to all participating athletes and will be posted on the website ww.bavisela.it.
