GAELFORCE NORTH 27/06/2015
Congratulations you have entered an
adventure race! Now do you want to know
what exactly it is you have signed up for?
•
•
•
Here is what makes an adventure race
unique:
It is unsupported, which means you must
bring with you from the start everything
you are going to need along the way. This
includes food, gear, bicycle repair kit and
spare clothing.
Waterproof leggings
Course map
Energy food and drink. You need to
bring enough food for the whole day
as we will not be providing any food
along the route! Water is provided for
refilling vessels at transition points. We
do not give out water bottles along the
route.
TRAVEL AND DIRECTIONS
Click on the map here for locations of:
Water stations are provided but you
must bring your own container/bottle
to drink from. You can then fill it at the
water stations as you need to. This is part
of being self-supported in the race and
also an effort on our part to cut down on
plastic cups and bottles for the sake of the
environment.

Registration at Glen Swilly GAA Club
Full course bike drop
Sprint course bike-drop
Race Day Bus Pick Up
Finish Line
Directions are also included on this map.
There are no distance markers along
the course. This is an adventure journey
crossing varying terrain and not an easily
marked or measured route. We find it is
better for your morale to count by stages
rather than distance, especially where that
might be 67km!
RACE NUMBERS
You need to carry a bike repair kit with
you and know how to use it. It is a shame
to have to pull out of the race just because
of a puncture or other minor incident that
could be fixed. There will be no one there
to help you on the course so it really is up
to you. All part of the adventure!
We hope to see you afterwards at the
prize-giving which will take place at
approximately 18:00 at Teach Hiudai Beag in
Bunbeg.
COMPETITOR ESSENTIAL INFO
If you are a prize winner, and can’t make it
to the prize giving, we ask that you arrange
for someone to pick your prize up for you.
MANDATORY KIT
Please note that carrying this mandatory kit
is for your own safety.
These will be available online from 6pm on
Thursday 25th June. Please know your race
number before coming to registration.
PRIZE GIVING
Remember, only those who are entered in
Wave 1 can win in any category.
VOLUNTEERS
As it is an adventure race there are parts of
the course that are off road so it may take a
while for medical aid to reach you.
The initial run is off road so you must bring
your mandatory kit from the start.
We are always looking for more volunteers
to help out at the event on June 27th so
if you know anyone who would like to be
part of the great atmosphere and see what
an adventure race is all about contact
us now on 095 42006 or email info@
gaelforceevents.com.
