IT Help Desk Trainee Application Deadline April 30 About ACE: The Accelerating Connections to Employment (ACE) grant provides free, non-credit training at Gateway Community College that leads quickly to employment. ACE is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor and the Annie E. Casey Foundation. Schedule Classroom May 26 - July 30 Tuesday,Wednesday, Thursday 6:00 PM- 9:30 PM Internship to Follow Career Navigation Workshops Alternating Wednesdays and Fridays Dates/Times TBD Based on Availability NO COST! Train with an industry professional to learn the entry level skills for the Information Technology (IT) sector and begin working as a computer support specialists or IT Help Desk worker. Prepare to pass A+CompTIA professional certification exams necessary for career advancement. Learn to answer questions or resolve computer problems in person, via telephone or electronically. Train to help users of computer hardware or software including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail and operating systems. Customer Service Communication training and team-building activities round out the training. Some previous work-related experience or knowledge preferred. 10-week training program also includes intensive Career Navigation coaching, followed by internship placement and job development assistance through ACE New Haven.
