We’re glad you are interested in competing at this event. Hall County 4-H equine shows are known for their standard of excellence. Our goal is to provide youth an opportunity to enhance horsemanship skills and knowledge in a professional, youth-friendly environment. Open to all youth riders. 4-H membership not required Ribbons will be awarded 1st – 6th place for each class. Champion and Reserve Champion will be awarded for each division. Points follow horse/rider combination. Points will be awarded as follows: 1st -7pts, 2nd -6pts, 3rd -5pts, 4th -4pts, 5th – 3pts, 6th – 2pts One High Point Overall Champion and one overall Reserve High Point Award will be given to the exhibitors with the highest number of points earned with a combined total from all classes. High Point ties will be broken by (a) greatest number of classes entered, (b) most first places, (c) decided by show judge. Series High Point winners are not eligible to win in consecutive years. 1. I fully understand that any horse activity can be a dangerous activity. I wish to allow myself and/or my child to participate in this activity knowing that it is dangerous. I accept and assume all of the risks of injury (including death) to myself and/or my child or my property. I represent and warrant that I have the authority to give this release. The Hall County 4-H Spring Horse Show to be held on Saturday March 28, 2015 is open to youth ages 19 and under. 4‐H membership is not required. S h o w T i m e : 9 a m Splitting or cancelling of classes: Show management reserves the right to combine, divide or cancel classes at their discretion. A refund will be given for any classes cancelled by the show management. Warm Ups: Friday, March 27, Warm-up and Stabling, 4-7pm Saturday, March 28, 7-9 am (Arenas C & D) Arena D may be used for warm-ups when not used for classes. No one is allowed in any other arena other than those designated for practice. If you are found using another arena or doing warm-ups outside of the scheduled times, you will be disqualified from all classes. No refunds are given. Classes will be held in Arena C. In the event of rain, classes will be moved to Arena D. Helmets are required for all participants. Helmets that meet the minimum performance standards set by the American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM) and which include certification and labeling required by the Safety Equipment Institute (SEI) will be REQUIRED. The participants and parent/guardian are responsible for assuring that their head gear complies with safety standards (ASTM/SEI). It is not the responsibility of the officials to check head gear. The headgear must be secured with the harness engaged and properly fastened. Failure to adhere to this rule will disqualify the rider. Helmets may be spot checked. Disqualification will result from improper helmets or improperly worn helmets. The approved helmets must have a permanent harness and chin strap. Show management will not loan helmets. Rider Number must be displayed any time a rider is mounted. Any act of discourtesy to judges, show management or any other official of the show on the part of any owner, rider, parent, trainer, or groom will result in disqualification of any rider and/or horse with which they are associated. No refunds will be made. Horses are not to be ridden through the barns. Horses must be kept at a walk in the barn area and covered aisles even if being led. Mandatory fees: Shavings $7 per bag, 1 bag per horse, no splitting bags. (EMT and office fees are included) Stallions are not allowed in any Equine Youth 4-H Horse Show or on the show grounds during the events. Dogs must be on a leash at all times and owners must clean up after their pets and dispose of the waste. APPOINTMENTS Attire: ALL riders shall wear a helmet as described above. Refer to AQHA handbook. Tack: Refer to AQHA handbook. Division and Class Specifications: The Judge’s decision is final. No grievances will be accepted, no refunds.
