Our Mission
For over 100 years, Nationwide Children’s
Hospital has been central Ohio’s hometown
hospital, providing care to hundreds of
thousands of kids each year. This community
treasure was founded by volunteers who
believed that every child deserves the best
care possible.
Today, your continued investment in Nationwide
Children’s Hospital has made us one of the best and busiest in the world; a great accomplishment. But with
greatness comes responsibility. Each of us has the opportunity, and the responsibility, to carry forward the
vision upon which our hospital was built and to elevate it to new heights.
Our Inspiration
Children’s Clubhouse- A
special place just for brothers and
sisters. At Nationwide Children’s
Hospital, we know that it’s not
just children with illnesses or
injuries that need the special
attention and expert care we
provide, but their siblings
need nurturing too. That’s why
Nationwide Children’s Hospital
Clubhouse is such a special
place for pre-school and school
aged children to visit, play and
learn while their siblings are in
the hospital. The Clubhouse
provides opportunities for children to express and cope with
a range of emotions, provides age appropriate safe play environments, opportunities to ask questions
regarding sibling’s illness or injury and create video messages to send to siblings when visitation is not
allowed. The Clubhouse is free of charge and offers many services to relieve a child’s stress and anxiety.
Bull Run also supports the Ocean Room at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The Ocean Room, a free
“toy store,” was created and carried out by a group of sixth-graders from Columbus Academy. The Ocean
Room is a place where young surgery patients can pick out a toy to cuddle with post-surgery. The Ocean
Room distributes over 10,000 toys each year to surgery bond patients.
